Poor Reuger. He's been scratching so much lately. I thought that it was fleas or chiggers and I've kept his treatment up to date but still he's been scratching. I've tried everything. I've been doing his grooming but lately I just haven't had time to give him a haircut so I called a lady in town and ran him in yesterday. She was concerned about a rash he had on his legs. I knew that it was there but not as bad as it was so I just ran him by the vet on the way home. The vet thought that it was allergies and gave him a shot but I couldn't tell a difference in Reuger before we went to bed. He was still scratching. This morning he's like a new guy!!! He's not scratching!!! I'm so happy and he looks so cute with his new haircut!!! I'll post some pictures of him with his new haircut in a little while!!

Sorry Reuger has allergies, that's so hard to figure out what hes allergic to. You might want to start changing hes diet slowly, and see if theres any improvement?
Edited to add: Oatmeal shampoo might help the itch. Hope it clears up soon Diana.
I am glad that Reuger is feeling better, and looking quite dapper Im sure lol.. Gucci sends kisses......:)

Here's the pictures of Reuger with his new haircut. He's feeling sooo much better! He hasn't been scratching hardly at all. I'm kicking myself for not taking him to the vet sooner.
1. Reuger with his new haircut.
2. Are you about done, Mom, with the pictures?
3. Go ahead take your pictures, but I'm finished posing!

I'm not sure that "shy" is the word I would use for Reuger......"terrified" is what I would say!!! I have such a hard time getting a picture because he always feels that he's in trouble and those ears go down and stay down. I had to wait for quite a while for the first picture.
I'm sure that you saw my post of him "stuck" in the hallway by a roll of paper!!! We often have incidents like that, usually pertaining to balloons!!! He's not a hyper little guy like a lot of yorkies. He's pretty quiet unless he hears something outside. I think that he's pretty precious too!!

He is precious, Diana. He really is... i love hes little face, and to me, he has that "innocent" look about him, which might be typical boy LOL
Yes i read the hallway story, and saw the pics. How would he react to the camera if you held up a treat, or a toy? For my lab i have to make the camera a "fun time" because she refuses to look at the camera if i dont make a promise LOL
My girls love the camera, they pose as soon as they see the it's kodak time LOL

He's just scared of the camera and when he's like that he won't take treats. I wish that he would love to get his picture taken but for some reason it's just another thing to be scared of!
As for his face, his nose is shorter than most yorkies that I've seen. I think that he's a baby face yorkie. Their eyes are further apart and their nose is shorter. I think that it's a really cute look and I would love to find a baby face female.

Diana he is absolutely darling. Such a cute face. Angie's Marty is a yorkie and he gets really hyper when he comes here so I can't see him for a while until I heal some. My maltese is pretty calm so he has been fine. He just lays by me and cuddles. Marty cuddles but he has to jump all over Nana for a while first. He will just have to wait a while to give Nana kisses.

Diana, he sounds so freaking cute, just makes me want to hold him, and cuddle him! :) He might like the idea of a baby sister :D

Diana, he is such a doll baby!! Really cute! I'm glad the Vet knew what to do for the poor guy, itching, even for us can be so annoying I can't imagine how Rueger was feeling. He was probably sooo tired of scratching.

I know that he had to be tired of scratching because I was tired of watching him scratch, but it never occurred to me that it was allergies. I thought that it was chiggers because he'd have little red marks on the inside of his legs and I knew that there wasn't much I could do for that. But he is sooooo much better now. It was definitely money well spent.
And thanks everyone for your comments. I think that he's a pretty special little guy. He's definitely a "Momma's boy"!!!
Dear Diana,
He's so cute and sweet looking. How lucky that the one shot worked so quickly.
Do you have to find out what he's allergic to, or just continue the shots?
I'm so glad he's not scratching anymore.

Aww, Diana, you're pictures of Rueger are ADORABLE! He's so darn cute!
Marty does the same exact thing with his ears when he's in trouble. It's so sad and so hard to punish him when he's just so sweet and cute. :( He just crouches close to the floor and looks up with this big eyes as if to say, "Mommy, you love me, don't you?" It just breaks my heart.
I think Marty doesn't like the camera's flash. When I get the camera out, he turns his face the opposite direction...but I'm persistent so I usually get a few decent shots.
Well, sorry for rambling... :o I'm glad Rueger is feeling better!

The vet thought that the shot should be good until it frosts which should kill off whatever's bothering him. Then next spring we'll probably have to do something again for him.
Good. You'll have a few worry-free months.
