View Full Version : Working Out?

I don't have anybody to walk with often these days because my limp is so bad I can't go far, but I am trying to get back to doing what little I can in exercise, here at home. I have a feeling from some of our chats that I am not alone in trying to get more active again. I thought we could put our trials and tribs in this thread and even how much we are doing to work out, just to keep each other going. :smile2:

What do you think?

I managed to do one set of reps at a count of 5 of 10 different exercises for my arms with 1 pound weights and a handful of strengthening exercises and some stretching for some other muscles. Doesn't sound like much but for me, it's great.

We could all have stronger butt muscles if we would do the butt exercises while on the computer. I just find it hard to read going up and down all the time.

I did my little workout again today - because I wanted to be able to say I did it. So thanks for the community. Who's joining me?

I went to a new chiropractor this morning and my leg did shift a little bit so I just walked about an extra 400 steps or so. Not much to most, I know, but I'll take anything I can get!

I've been sticking with it most days since I decided to post it - funny I picked beauty and fashion to put this under instead of health or diet - tired week! Anyone want to start walking?

I wake up, come downstairs and push the power button before I even start making breakfast! Computers have become so essential. I need to back up my latest work today - are you all backed up?

Today I am finally going to go out with a student's mother - about an hour drive to the student's college, lunch, tutoring and riding back here. I will have to eat food that I don't normally eat and am praying that the migraine I will have doesn't destroy the weekend. One of the things I am going to do to counter it is walk as much as I can. Walking helps all the core muscles function plus it oxygenates the blood stream and hence everything. I don't know what else to do to keep this pain to a minimum but I'm going to try.

I'm going to my magic chiropractor in about 20 minutes. She'll exercise me - and I have to walk from the car to the office!.

How's that hangover, Sheryl? Ugh..

I'm pushing 53, that's enough of a workout for me! ;)

I do go out and take care of my dogs and puppies a couple times a day. When you consider that means having ten 12-16 lb puppies hanging on my ankles as I walk, I'm probably building some great leg muscles.

Hangover went away - thank goodness for life's small miricles. And, thanks for asking ;)

Oh Id so much enjoy a chiropractor - have you been going a long time? Have you noticed a wonderful difference? Id love that and a massage every week for about an hour. Oh heaven, total heaven!!

Heading for 52, myself. Wish that was the number of pounds I can heft when I do my workout... Oh well...

I added a second set today and sometimes did 2 pounds instead of 1 pound. Did a few minutes of yard work, too, and I am wasted! I can't believe I am this weak.
