Hi everyone! I haven't been on in a while...haven't been on YT that much lately either....I just posted this on YT and thought I would post here as well. My daughter is a dance teacher. She asked if I could download a song for her. Hubby has lime wire but hasn't been able to access the site for quite some time now. Not sure if the site is gone or what. But, my daughter needs a song for friday night to teach her little tap dancers their routine. Can anyone help me out with a site that I could go to to load music free? I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance girls!

Hmm, I'm not sure. Knowing the song would help.

I just checked LimeWire, and it's still up. There should be other sites where you can d/l - i'll try to find out.

Just google limewire and download it with Bittorrent. How old are the girls?

Judy's right. Bit torrent works really well for pretty much anything...

If it's copy protected than you can be charged if you download it for free. It is available on iTunes - aren't they just 99 cents?

I meant charged with a crime.

One of my students is doing a research paper on online piracy. He's a pro at it.

You do have to be4 very careful or they fine you a lot of money!

Besides, when it is so inexpensive to pay for just one song, why not? The writer and performer should benefit from their work.

lol, we got a notice in the mail a while back that said if we continue to download things from the internet, they would cut off our service, but never mentioned anything about charging us with a crime. They said we downloaded the full season of Heroes, but all of the episodes are available to watch online for free, so I don't see the big deal. (IF we did it, that is...:D)

They have to send you the notice to try to limit their liability - lawyers!

I wasn't about anything legal though. Just our internet service...

They may be liable for your downloads as they can see and monitor the download so they are limiting their liability for a suit for allowing the downloads by sending this notice.

Angie,

Hypothetically speaking, of course, if the downloader maxes at about 3 and no more than 10, he/she probably won't be noticed. Slow, but safer.

I don't expect any problems. IF hubby were to download anything, I'm sure he'd be very cautious... Not that he would download anything... ;)
