I spent yesterday shampooing my living room carpet and moving the furniture around. A while ago I let Reuger back into the house and after 5 minutes I started getting a whiff of something awful! You guessed it ........he rolled in something dead and he's rubbed it on the carpet!!!!! So....... I guess that I'm going to go back over the carpet again today. I'm so mad at him!!!! Before I can do the carpet I've got to give him a bath and he'll be chained up when he goes out, I guess. Why do dogs have to roll in dead stuff? UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Oh how terrible!!! Don't they just have the BEST timing for stuff like that! At least your carpet will be super clean after going over it twice in such a short period of time...

Poor Diana!

Doesn't something like that always happen? I woke up yesterday and decided also to scrub the rug wherever I know Gracie Leigh has pooped with Odorban. Don't you think every time I turned around until 11 PM, there was more poop!

There's a whole thread on YT about why dogs love to roll around in dead things.
It's hysterical. The Dirty Kid Club or something.

The deader, the better.

Hope your rug shines!

I really needed something to grin at, to wake me up - thank you! You have added to the wrinkles around my eyes and I am duly grateful!

Oh Diana, you poor thing!! I know how you feel though. Everytime it seems, when I clean my carpet real good, one of them will go behind a recliner and poop. Drives me crazy! One of these days I hope to have laminate or wood flooring....one of these days.

Janet, I'm just trying to imagine your four playing around on laminate or wood floors. Think of how much slipping and sliding there would be. lol. That would be SO cute!

My friend Londa had a German Shepherd that dragged home a dead decaying skunk to roll on. Londa gave her a bath, buried the skunk and thought that was the end of it. :D

She ended up burying that same skunk 3 times! Sasha just loved that stinky gross thing. :lol2:

Oh how awful for her!!! I think I would've been sick. Brendon would have to take care of it if anything like that every happened to us! YUCK!

That's so funny, Tink!!! I can see a dog doing that. The fact is that he came in the house really stinky a couple of days before this one but I caught him immediately and gave him a bath. This time I didn't realize it until he'd been in for a while. He's getting chained up when he goes outside for awhile, at least, until what ever it is decays! When I said something to my husband he said he had smelled something around that area the other day (while pointing to the southeast). That didn't help me!!! I want him to find that yucky thing and get it far, far, far from here!!!!

Ewwwww Reuger - !!! When the cows break through the barbed wire and poop in our yard guess where my Annabelle is at? Yup, rolling in the cow dung head first. Now, Schatzie and Ransom they prefer worms on the sidewalk for whatever reason. But either way their actions remind me that they are doggies, LOL.

It is annoying though that they seem to pick the day to do nasty stuff when our floors are clean. Go figure. :D

Marty for some reason just LOVES worms!! He tries to roll all over them. I hate it when it rains a lot cause I know there will be worms on the sidewalks and then I dread taking him out... *sigh*

Wait - there really is a scientific reason - something to do with masking their own smell or something.

They're so funny!

I could handle it if Reuger would roll in worms at least it wouldn't smell so bad! I could try teaching him to roll in worms but it would probably back fire and he'd roll in something dead and THEN roll in the worms too!!!!

Sorta like what us humans do with deoderant, perfume, and such right? LOL I guess we are really not that different than fur kids possibly? hahahahaha :D

Maybe in their minds they think they "smell really really good". NASTY!!
