What's for supper. I get so tired of trying to figure out what to fix for supper.
Tonight we had salmon patties, fried potatoes and corn on the cob. YUMMY.
TOmorrow I will fix a roast in the crock pot. Then leftovers I will make
Vegetable Beef soup. I get tired of fixing the same old thing.
I fix supper every night but Sunday and then we just have popcorn and apples.
any good ideas?

Well....We were going to have stuffed sole fillets, but I got lazy. So, we had pastrami/cheese sandwhiches instead in front of the tv. :)

I wish I liked to cook!! Sounds like all of you do a pretty good job. I think I wouldn't mind it so bad if I didn't have to clean up the mess. It just makes it that much longer until I can get back to 4WT !!:)

We had Pizza Hut last night, haha they have a special on Monday's, you get a large pizza for $6.99. So my brother in law, niece and nephew came over and we all had pizza and breadsticks! I always get tired of the same old thing for dinner as well! I search online for hours on end trying to find new recipies. We eat a lot of chicken, so I've found tons of different ways to make chicken! And we love pasta! Tonight we will probably have left over pizza hahah :p

You mean it's possible to eat when you're NOT in front of the TV???

My favorite meal use to be fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, peas, and crescent rolls. That's what my Mom would fix me for my birthday (and other times too). Well after I got married I would fix it just about every Sunday. Well, after we had been married for about 5 or 6 years, my husband finally told me he really didn't like chicken that well. Duh, all he had to do was say something....I was getting pretty tired of it myself. :D

We will be having the stuffed sole fillets that we didn't last night as they were still frozen. Probably add some fresh brocoli I need to use up, and sliced peaches and call it done.
I have to head out on Teenah (horse) tonight w/ hubby taking video's because Teenah's been wanting to buck/ crow hop, act stupid and insane, etc. So, with working with her tonight i don't have tons of time to prepare a fancy meal.

What type of horse is she? Is this kind of behavior uncommon for her? How old is she?

Last night we had italian chicken on the grill I made cauliflower & cheese sauce for me (husband refuses to eat yellow cheese) & he made a can of peas & carrots for himself. Cherry pie for desert.
Tonight I am making waffles & sausage, i got tired of making the same thing over & over too. But fried chicken & mashed potatoes does sound good.

She's a Missour Fox Trotter. (8 years old) Nope, her behavior has just kinda come on the last few rides. She may be feeling frisky do to the cooler temps, not sure. I know she's not in pain, and physically she looks just fine.
She might be having that time of the month where she needs a date, not sure of that either.
So, hopefully tonight after seeing some video and such I can try to pin point more of what's going on.
She's on horsey crack I think and not telling me, LOL.
She's a great horse and has so much spunk...But lately her spunk is placing me in danger.

If she's not on regimate I would agree it might be her time of the month. The fact that the weather suddenly turned brisk might be a factor also. I like the ones with spunk also. My first show horse was part throughbred & he had quite a bit of spunk too, he used to reach back & untie my shoes when we'd be waiting for a class to get placed.

Untie your shoes, that's hilarious!! What a character. That's impressive you show. I doubt I will ever get into that. It's all just western pleasure for me.
What type of horse do you have now?

He was a character alright. My parents breed quarters (some of our big english horses are part throughbred). My mom & I show English & jumping & my dad shows western pleasure. We have 8 brood mares & stand a western pleasure stud.

Wow - you stay busy for sure. You are so lucky to have the ability to show. I love watching the shows. I belong to a horse club now and most of them show. They all have the "perfect" horses and then well I show up w/ my Teenah. Not show quality but she's enjoyable.

I can respect your fear Carolyn of horses. I've been riding off and on most my life. Teenah is my first owned horse as an adult and i learn more and more as time goes on. (Thank goodness for my girlfriend who lives down the rode from me. She helps me constantly!)
I took a fall off Teenah the end of June that put me in the hospital a few days. Now there are at times when I do become a bit nervous on her but trying to work through it. I am not as young as I used to be and those falls hurt much worse now days. :(

Thanks Carolyn. And yes, it is very true. Horses will want to dominate you. Pretty much just like a dog only the horse is ALOT bigger. You ALWAYS want to have the upper hand on a horse, if not they will give you NO respect and hurt you.
Last night hubby video taped, sure enough she started her small bucks and crow hop. UGH!! So, tonight my girlfriend who rides with me and is knowledgable about horses is to come by and watch me with her. Crap! I've got to play "rodeo" again tonight. I think however, this time I will have a couple gin/tonics in me. I aint doing this rodeo again sober!! Hell no!!!! If we can't figure it out and she don't bow / respect me I will have to sell her and get a new horse. Safety is involved here and I will lose the fight for sure.
$22,000 for my last fall and we can't afford it to happen again.

Thanks Mandy ~ it went ok, just ok. She's a stubborn butt horse who is not allowing me to get the upper hand. So, after thinking about it all last night and this morning I think I am going to sell her. It just seems her and I are not "clicking" and it's becoming more nerve wracking then it's worth.
She's a great horse but honestly, I don't think she likes me too much. :(
So today I will have to turn off 4wt awhile and head to the horse sites to place her selling information. Ugh, this is not an easy choice right now.
Then...I left my lead rope/halter at her pen last night. Went up there this morning and found the neighbors dog chewing on it. (same Chi that makes her buck when I am riding her) That damn dog chewed it up. Bring on those water balloons cuz I'm gonna blast that little dog to no end!!!
Geez, can you see I'm not having a great day? LMAO!! It's not even noon but give me a drink!! :p

Oh i'm sorry to hear it didnt go well!! But you know Sheryl, you are doing the right thing, she needs someone that can control her temprement. I don't think it's anything personal with her not liking you, you are a softy girl, and she needs a firm hand.

Yes, Lucy was there giving advise and watching. She did notice that Teenah flicks her tail often while I am leading her. Which this means, she is frustrated and mad. Ugh! We also used different reining techniques and that just ticked her off more.
I've made the right choice in my heart and mind.
So, now that this thread got TOTALLY off topic...What's for supper?? LMAO
Tonight we are having pork chops. :D

How cool to read about your ladies horse fun!
I used to have horses and was crazy enough to always want to be on the fastest, craziest one. LOL I have broken bones, tore my right kneecap loose so it now floats lose in my leg, have had 2 concusions, etc.
It's true that as you get older you just don't bounce like you used to! Now when I fall I take inventory to be sure everything still works before I attempt to get up. When I was still young and foolish I'd hop up and right back on without flinching.
For several years hubby and I bought paint breeding stock foals and raised them to train and resell. It was fun, but the older we got, the more we resented the work and expense involved, so we finally sold the last one and quit. I would love to have a nice quiet riding horse now, but have to be content to live vicariously through my friends and their animals.
I was only ever on an english saddle once, and that was enough for me! I put it on a young arab I was breaking and when he reared, I found myself wanting back the security of the "OH SHIT handle" as my hubby calls the saddle horn. Without it, I slid back and ended up just above the horses tail by the time he got back on all 4s. My first saddle was an OLD cavalry saddle with a deep seat and ever since that one I've preferred one that I sat IN as much as ON. LOL
We had a tennesee walker, a couple arabs, some with thoroughbred lines and mostly quarters. My favs are really the old style quarters with the heavier build and muscles. I love the feel of riding a Paso Fino, but always feel they're too small for my bulky body.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

WOW  You've taken some bad falls too. Yes, as you when I was younger I wanted roudy. Not anymore. I want spirit but not dominance in my horse.
I LOVE the Quarter Horses, used to ride them. But I have back issues horribly so that is why I have to have a gaited horse now. I could ride all day and not hurt. (well, that's if I don't fall off)
I like Tennesee Walkers, but they are a little too pricey for me from what i've seen so far. I've watched them in shows, etc. The Paso Fino's quick step cracks me up. They are like on horsey crack or something. Could never have one of them, they make me nervous just watching their fast baby steps...
LOL - Horses and what's for supper. Theme of this thread. :p
Cheryl if you ever get the chance to get ON a paso fino you will be shocked. I've never had a smoother seat than on them! The look like they're in a frenzy with those quick little steps, but you don't feel that at all once you're mounted. Hubby too has bad back probs and he says he could ride a Paso fino cross counrty and never get tired or sore.
They too are PRICEY horses though. We were looking for one a few years back and could have bought 3 nice quarters for what one cost.

Awesome! Hopefully I will run into somebody who owns a Paso Fino and wouldn't mind me "test driving" her/him.
I think my husband is to the point now that he wont care what is spent on my next horse as long as the horse and I connect/bond, and it minds me. Teenah was $2500.00 and am hoping to get the same back when she sells. Time will tell.
