Are you ready to read a very funny story? Because this is it!!! My grandchildren have to be the ORNERIEST kids around and I have no clue as to where they could get it from!!!! Anyway here goes--
Yesterday evening my grandson, Elijah, started asking if he could spend the night. Immediately his Mom said no, so I didn't say anything but the girls, who had overheard started asking too. After a while they came up stairs from the basement carrying a note and asked us to read it to everyone. Here's what it said--
Dear Peoples,
We the people of the United States of America say that we need a sleepover. The reason is that our parents need time alone and our Grandparents NEED us and we need them.
Did we mention that we all love you very much.
With serious Love,
President George Washington
P.S. -Don't get mad!!!
Circle one
Yes No
Maybe IDK (I don't know)
We all had a big laugh at their note! Kiley ended up dressing like George Washington and came up and tried to convince us that they needed the slumber party. You'll notice in the picture of them that Elijah doesn't have a shirt and that's because George Washington had it on!
Anyway I ended up writing a note back that said--
Dear President George Washington,
After serious consideration the party of the second part has accepted the proposal from the party of the first part. Notwithstanding the fact that the party of the first part must comply with all rules from the party of the second part, also endenturing themselves as slave to the party of the second part.
Don't be mad! Signed,
The Peoples of the United States
If you therefore agree--sign here (Which they all signed!)
After they all signed I had them clean up the kitchen and Elijah sat and got upset because he didn't want to be a slave! (Continued)

There's more!!!!
This morning after I got dressed I reminded the kids that they were my slaves and that my bed needed to get made. So they all went in and made my bed and I took a picture after they were almost finished. Then I reminded them that they forgot to put the pillows on. The next time I looked in on them they were in a line around the bed and tossing pillows from one to another. Not just handing them but tossing them and Kiley was standing on the bed and they were singing " It's a hard knock life" from Annie. I cracked up laughing and when I told my husband what they were doing he was laughing too. It was like that all morning long!
Later they took a blanket and with my husband's help they were swinging each other in the blanket. I came in and told them that I wanted a turn too, but I was just joking, but later, after conspiring, they came and told me that they were ready for my turn. They had the blanket spread on the floor and put pillows down so I could be comfortable then they wrapped the blanket around me and one of the girls pulled out a roll of duct tape and wrapped me up in it!!! The slaves protested!!!!! I told that for lunch they were to only have a small piece of bread and a glass of water!!!!! Anyway, it was a fun day!!! They are great kids, but so ornery!!!! Just don't know where it comes from!!!!

They are a blast to be around and since we're pretty young grandparents we really enjoy them. We try to make good memories with them. I tell you the things that they come up with certainly leave us laughing!!!!

The laughs are still coming!!! I found another letter like the last one that the kids gave us but this one has a P.S.S. on the bottom that reads......
P.S.S. Eli wants a brother and we don't want to be around.
The kids are soooo funny!
Oh Diana, I'm so glad you enjoy your grandkids so much!
They obviously love you and have a great time with you.
Thanks for sharing!

Diana, that was so funny, you have given your grandkids something very memorable, they will be telling this story to their own grandkids one day. They most definatly are very blessed with wonderful grandparents.
Diana,
One is cuter than the next! You're a big happy family and there's nothing better.
They're so lucky to have you as grandparents.

You have an amazing bunch of grandkids there, Diana. It's so wonderful that you are getting to enjoy them so!!!! The whole letter thing is so cute. Reminds me of things my cousins would cook up when we had family gatherings way back when.

I wish we were able to have more children, just so we could have grandkids to love ......and then send home. By the time my son is married with children, I'm probably going to be too old to be too much fun for them.

You're only as old as you feel, Janet! Just laugh with them and love them, basically that's all you do. And who knows you might be blessed with a lot of grandchildren!! You never know.
In my family there's only my brother and I but between the two of us, I have four children and 5 grandchildren and my brother has 4 children and two step children. And my Mom thought that she had a small family too!
