I haven't been on for a few days because I've gotten my energy together to start looking for that condo in the country. I've been online for hours.

I've found out a lot of info, but am not finished yet. I'm not sure there's a perfect solution. There are some wonderful, very reasonable places in Windham, Hunter
and a couple of other ski areas. They're small, but have great amenities. They're up in the mountains which is breathtaking! They're pretty close to my daughter too.

The down side is that this is real country - pretty far from shopping malls, supermarkets, etc. when it's hard core winter and the roads are icy. I also don't know what activities (yoga, pottery, etc.) are available. I don't ski. I don't even like snow!

The other area with condos is about 2 hours away from Jessie, is more expensive, and although pretty, not like being up in the mountains. There are tons of stores, malls, activities, a couple of colleges, etc.

I've contacted several real estate agents and now I think I have to wait and see what else, if anything, comes up.

I feel like I've gotten a lot done at least.

Being in the country sounds wonderful - but it is good to think about how long you plan to live there. As we and our homes age, we usually need more services, e.g., doctor, physical therapy, home repairs, car repairs, etc. I would consider those resources in any area that I planned to live in for a long time. Sometimes those resources are scant in more rural areas - but sometimes not. I find that as people grow older, sometimes they need to be closer to an urban area in order to access needed services.

Just a thought!

Just keep asking questions and looking until the right place shows up, Judy. Don't be in too big of a hurry. One day the RIGHT place will appear!!!

The only advice I can give, which I know you know already is...don't rush and don't settle. Wait till your dream home appears and then go for it. I wish you the best Judy in your house hunting quest!!

Good lock Judy. House hunting is so exciting. For a while I was hooked on the show on HGTV.
