Ok, finally I managed (with help from hubby) to get some of the Christmas deco up. I chose to do the tree this year in just gold/white tones. I just wasn't in the mood to hang all the ornaments. I collect santa's and have about 60 or so more that I didn't feel like putting those out either.

I got lazy and remembered that each piece I bring out I'd have to put away in just a couple weeks.

Next year I will bring it all out and get crazy w/ all the santa's, the Christmas village, etc....

So....here are the before and after pics.

Sheryl,

That's lovely! First of all, it's a beautiful room - very comfortable and sophisticated.

The Christmas decorations are just enough, and that big Santa is fabulous! That's a great thing to have.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

HO, HO, HO!

Sheryl that room is beautiful..before and after. What lovely taste you have. The tree is beautiful too. I didn't put out all my decorations either, I remembered the same think you did, plus that I would have to dust more things until Christmas arrived. NOT!!!!

Love that Santa!! Everytime I see a beautiful home with beautiful things...I want to start redecorating.

LMAO Mandy. And Santa says "Good Morning" to you too and wants to know if you've been a good little girl this year? Ho Ho Ho!!

I found Mr. Santa at a store near by last year called "Oops". It's a discount store and they only wanted $40.00 for him. So I tucked him under my arm and headed out home with him.

Sheryl, your home is beautiful before AND after!!! I understand about not putting everything out some years because it does take a lot of time to turn around and put it away. I love the Santa!!! What a deal you got on him!!! Too cute!!!

Thank you ladies for the compliments! Really though...this year I must say that I thank Mandy and my BBBS Little for the insentive and push to decorate.

Our Little will be here a couple days before Christmas to visit and I didn't want her to be here w/out seeing Christmas stuff up. And Mandy, she understands that I'm normally in a pretty bad downer during the holidays but I made her a promise Id decorate for her.

Ya know girlie, while i was putting up my tree, i was thinking of you all the time, i knew you were putting yours up this past weekend, and kept saying, it's you & me on this one Sheryl. Wine in one hand, figurenes in the other. LOL

I first decorated the tree all silver, it was done, so we sat down, and kept looking at the tree, something looked so not right LOL - i took the whole thing down again, and started all over, now it's decorated with the victorian stuff ive had for about 6 years now, i just dont seem to get tired of it.

Your little is going to love your tree, specially all those gorgeous Santa's - Sheryl, did you name your big Santa?
I have 3 and all have names LMAO

I noticed your Victorian tree in the background on the picture with the girls. It's beautiful!! No, big Santa don't have any name yet - ha haaa ha :D

And indeed, you are correct. Wine in one hand and an ornament in the other was exactly the way it all went up! Most likely it too will be exactly the way it all comes down. ;)

Sheryl I first want to comment that your room is beautiful before and after.. You have tastefully decorated. I myself collect santas, snowmen to. I have a village that I normally put together each year, this year I am not going to and am going easy on the decorating.. I am finishing my tree as we speak, I will post later. I do a victorian theme ..

PS I LOVE THAT SANTA!!! lol

Sheryl, thanks for sharing.
I LOVE your floors and fireplace. VERY nice!
You couch looks eerily familiar. I think it's a dead match to mine. ;)

I love your Santas... I have snowmen and they're not out yet either... but dh brought them in yesterday and told me HE wants to see them. LOL He isn't real big on Christmas decorating but he does enjoy the snowman collection surprisingly.

Thanks Tink - The floors were recently done actually. Twice to be exact. What a nightmare from hell, excuse my expression! You can't tell in the pics but we still need to add the trim around the baseboards. (that's a honey do list that no telling when it will get done. ;) ) Id really love to place a rug to warm it up a bit but well Yorkie's (atleast mine) and rugs turn into potty pads. So, no rugs allowed in this house, LOL.

We keep a fire in that wood burner fireplace 24/7...I can't believe I shot a picture not having it burning. It's our source of heat for the winter then we have a smaller one in our bedroom.

You will need to share a picture with us of your snowman collection. Id love to see them. :)

I do wish now i would have taken out all the santa's and displayed them but oh well....Next year. :)

I have the same problem with rugs Sheryl. My stubborn little maltese causes problems.

They all must love the rugs. I can't put any throw rugs down anywhere.

We use to use our fireplace insert quite a bit when we first got it..a few years ago. I just got tired of the wood crumbs all over and everytime hubby would open the door to put wood in, all the ash would go flying. UUGGHH!!!

We even had to buy a humidifier or whatever their called because it dried everything out so much. Sure was easier on the heating bill though.
