View Full Version : Stay Warm and Safe
I heard the news earlier and they are saying that Kansas and other mid western states are going to have a big snow storm. I hope that if any of you are affected, that you are prepared with food etc. Please stay safe and warm. Keep us posted... Diana I think of you when they mention Kansas. I hope you and your family will be ok...

Thanks Gina. I think the snow is already falling in KS. I spoke to my Stepdaughter earlier and she lives in Wichita KS. She mentioned snow has began.
Our snow here in AR is to be here Saturday morning.
Janet, I think she says she is due for up 12 inches if I'm not mistaken.
It's gonna be a mess it seems for sure.
Hubby and I plan on doing a few chores tomorrow then take the 4-wheeler out w/ a thermos of hot cocoa and head out for some adventure. Not much else to do with snow on the ground. :D
Thanks Gina for all your well wishes! :p

Yes, this mornings weather is still calling for 7-12 inches by Sunday morning. We are having some flurries now and from what the news said we will get about 3 inches by noon or 1:00 PM and then it will stall for awhile and then the rest will fall. I'm not looking forward to it at all. We have all we need I think.
I'm just going to stay in and groom the babies. They really need it this time after being outside so much last week and it was a little muddy.

I need to groom my fur kids too. It's just I can't bend over right now with this head congestion. My head will blow off. So, I'm thinking I will wait till next week. Then atleast they will still be looking all pretty on Christmas day for pics or whatever. :)

Thanks for your concern, Gina. We've missed the really big snow. It looks like it's west and north of us in the areas that still don't have electricity from the ice storm. My husband talked to a man up by Topeka and their community had just gotten their electricity back on but he lives in the country and it could be up to a month for him to get it back on there. It's suppose to get really cold too.
We're disappointed but with it being before Christmas it's good that we didn't get all that snow. There's too many activities going on right now.
We have about an inch on the ground and are expected to get 1 to 3 inches more. Jaci says it won't be enough!!! She wants to go sledding!!!!! I think that I'll send her to Janet's!!!!
Stay safe and cozy. I just left my daughter's where it snowed Thursday. By Friday, they cleaned the roads beautifully. I wanted to get home before our storm.
I don't think we'll be getting snow. What do you think, Gina?
Anyway, have fun in the snow and be careful.
Glad to hear that everyone is not affected by the snowstorm. Judy now they are saying that it will rain, and will be very windy. At least no snow.. Thank God..

We only got a dusting yesterday. It was such a dumb snow.

We didn't get near what they said. Went to bed last night with a little rain, but mostly ice. Woke up this morning to about 6 inches of snow and are expected to get another 1-3 before it stops this afternoon. Far cry from the "up to 17 inches" they said we were going to get. Although I am very happy with less snow.
Bad thing is the wind is blowing so hard at times you can't see. So pictures will have to wait. I hope they can get the roads clear tonight after the winds lie down..if they do. I'm wondering if we'll have a two hour delay in the morning or school at all.
I just hate driving on snow and ice with my van and on Tuesday I'm suppose to take my Mom to a nearby city to see a presentation on kidney dialysis and then on to her kidney Dr. afterwards. I don't want to go and drive on bad roads.
Mom said she didn't want to reschedule and I said we may have to. She said she'd rather drive herself then. Man is she stubborn. The older I get the more driving in bad weather conditions scare me. Didn't use to.
She's so cute! I guess you don't think that's cute though, having to drive her around.
Be careful!

I don't mind driving her around on good clean roads..lol. I just get so nervous when they are snowpacked or ice covered. I would have to drive about 7-8 miles to town to pick her up and then drive another 35 -40 minutes to Lafayette and then the drive back to her house and then home. I'm just getting to be an old scaredy cat.

Talking about driving on the snow.........I drove to church this morning and coming home I was turning a corner and totally ended up heading the wrong direction!!!! My daughter was doubled over laughing!!! The worst part was............my husband was following me and dying laughing too!!!!!! I just pressed the 4-wheel drive button and drove on home with my laughing daughter!!!!

We got quite a bit sat. night. I'd say at least 8 inches, but I'm horribly about telling how much we got. My husband & i braved it bright and early sunday morning to go to target to get a Wii. It wasn't bad. I had the truck in 4-wheel & took main roads, but never drove faster then 40. And we did get our Wii, so it was totally worth it.

How scary...I can't believe they were laughing. I would have been crying!!! Glad you're okay and all you did was spin. I'm glad you were being watched over.

Do you mind the winter here in Indiana? I totally do NOT! Once my son graduates I really want to move where there is hardly ever any snow. Don't mind the cold so much...just the snow.

I hate the cold, but get so excited over the snow. It was so awesome watching it fall yesterday & it doesn't really bother me to drive in it. I would like to move somewhere warm, but only because i can never seem to get warm in the winter. I love Hot Hot weather.
