A Frickin' Elephant

Jake is 5 and learning to read.

He points at a picture in a zoo book and says,
"Look Mama! It's a frickin' Elephant!"

Deep breath ... "What did you call it?"

"It's a frickin' Elephant, Mama!
It says so on the picture!"

And so it does.

"A f r i c a n Elephant "

Hooked on phonics strikes again

BTW--Frickin" is one word that I just haven't figured out the definition to. Does anyone else know?

LOL, how funny! Never really thought about the definition of the word before Diana. I might just go look it up now. :D

I don't know about anywhere else Diana, but the definition around here is that 4 letter word beginning with F, if ya know what I mean. Just a nicer way of saying it. I know the kids started saying it around here because the actually didn't like the sound of the 'F' word so they will say this instead.

I had wondered about that. I haven't heard it said too much around here but I'm not around anyone much that talks like that anyway.
