You won't believe what happened. We bought most of our gifts early, so no rush, no hassle. We got Melissa's fiance an XBOX 360 that was on their wedding registry. It was all wrapped, under the tree. Well yesterday, our oldest daughter, Karen, told me that Melissa said she saw on the Target website that someone had bought them the XBOX 360 Arcade version. They had registered for the XBOX 360 Premium. We had not noticed this, did not know there was a difference, and no one at the store had pointed it out. The Arcade came with some extra games included, so we thought we were getting a good deal for him. Karen explained that the Premium version has internal memory and saves your progress when playing the game so you don't have to start from the beginning each time, the Arcade does not. It's the "low end" machine. Well, we felt bad, knowing that we got the wrong game, and he would have to take it back after Christmas. For these kids, XBOX is a social game system for their group of friends. They are all good young adults who get together and network the machines and play as a group. It's a good clean fun way for newly weds to socialize and stay connected with their friends.

Karen had already checked and Target was getting one XBOX 360 Elite (even more memory than the premium that he had wanted) in last night. I called the store, and they said if they do, it is first come, first served, so I got up at 5:15 this morning and was first in line at Target when they opened at 7:00, and I got the one and only XBOX Elite. I returned the Arcade version, so while others were disappointed that I got there first, at least I was exchanging so someone else go an XBOX, too.

The things we do for our kids!!!!;)

Way to go Marilyn!! Isn't is a great feeling knowing you were able to get something they really wanted? That's exactly how I felt getting the Wii. I can't wait till he opens it as I'm sure you're excited for yours to be opened too.

Not sure I would have been in line at 5:15 AM.....LOL...but I'm glad you were able to do it and was successful!

He and my daughter loved the XBOX. His eyes got soooo big when he opened it. He immediately said it was too much, but we assured him that it is okay. Of course they tryed it out this afternoon, and the high definition picture on it is amazing. I did not know, but it has 120 gigs of internal memory. Not sure what they need all that for to play games, but glad it's so awesome to them, and we were definitely hits this Christmas. It was well worth getting up early and waiting in the cold to see him open it this morning.
