Does anyone want to share their plans for New Year's Eve? :2party: Any resolutions?

My husband, son and I always fix a seafood supper :3plate: on New Year's Eve. Lobster tail, scallops, cocktail shrimp, crablegs, the works. I even fix the cheese biscuits very similar to what they have at Reb Lobster. We just never wanted to be out on the roads with all the drunks so stayed safe at home. I'm hoping we will play the Wii, it's so much fun.

I don't make resolutions, it seems I'm never able to keep them so why make them. I do HOPE that I can't be more forgiving and tolerant to my husband, I HOPE I can have more patience when trying to get things done, knowing that I can't do it all in one day..(like I use to..lol), and I HOPE to be able to get really serious about taking some of this awful weight off.

I also HOPE that 2008 will be more peaceful for everyone and more prosperous for those in need.:)

I'm not sure yet what I'm doing for New Years Eve. I'm still sitting in my pj's at my parents' house :D I told Kyle to find out what's going on in the city and we'll do something. I don't feel like doing anything big, like going out and spending money on drinks and whatever. If anything I think we might go to our friends' house (they just bought a new house and I haven't seen it yet!) and hang out for the night. As for resolutions, I just want to SAVE SAVE SAVE. I need money lol.
If I liked seafood, I would tell you that sounds scrumptious :)

Janet, your seafood feast sounds devine!!!

No plans are made for us. A few chores (still working on that new pen for Bay), clean up around the house, and arrange some paperwork/files.

As for the resolutions, none are made. It's all just one day at a time at this point.

Sheryl, you sound so sad...I wish I could make it better....{{{{{ hugs }}}}}
I would if I could ya know!

Maybe keeping busy with the pen will help some, Bay will like being closer to you.

I'm getting ready to clean out paperwork too and get ready to start over with 2008 paperwork...does it ever end?..ha ha ha

I'm going to Janet's for New Years!!!! It sounds so yummy!!!!! I love seafood!!!! Seriously, I don't know what we're doing this year. We have some friends who usually have a party and that's probably where we'll be going but if not, we'll be staying home. I'm so tired of parties right now that just being home and not being around people sounds really good! We always visit and play games. Taboo is always fun and Battle of the Sexes!!!

There for awhile we didn't know if we were going to be able to fix our seafood feast this year and we've done it since Ricky was little. But, we came up with the extra money and now it's a go!! Yay...I love seafood.

I guess that we're staying home tonight. Our friends decided they weren't having a party this year. I usually would but I just don't have the strength to get ready for another one so we're just going to be home. I told my husband that I would just like to watch some movies and he agreed. Jaci's making plans with a couple of her friends so I told her that they could come here since we're going to be home anyway.

A peaceful night will be good for you Diana. You've been partying up a storm anyways, LOL.

Our chores (most of them anyway) have been completed. So hubby and I are just going to watch some movies and eat snacks. I have an artichoke/spinich dip in the oven and making loaded cheese fries.

A fire is burning now so it's finally warming up in the house, thank goodness! I've got a kidney/bladder infection going on now due to stress so it will be nice to plop down in front of that fire and snack, rest, keep warm, and veg!!!!!!

However, I think Id still rather be eating Janet's seafood feast with those cheese biscuits. Gosh that sounds so good!

Well it looks like I might just be staying home alone now. I should have stayed with my parents for an extra couple of days. Kyle's doing a family thing which he invited me to, and then uninvited me to last night after saying I want to apply for a visa for Australia :(

we have already had our dinner, i took out those individual wok pans, and put them on the table, different meats, and wok veg, with lots of different sauces. Now i'm on champagne. Got cheese platters, and other snacks for later on.

I wish I could get you all here to eat with us. What a party :2party: that would be...until about 9:00 PM :sidesplit: :sidesplit: and then I get so sleepy from the seafood and beer that I go to bed...:lol2: I can't help it! I'm not the party girl I use to be..LOL

My son usually wakes me right before midnight so we can watch the ball drop.

Brendon and I are hanging out with our friends Sarah and Ryan (unless I am in pain again tonight). Not a party or anything, but just the four of us. It should be lots of fun! :)

Angie, what's going on? Are you still having problems?

Angie, what's going on? Are you still having problems?

Well, the medication (seasonique) was supposed to make me only have a cycle once every three months and it was only supposed to last about three days, so I'd be in pain much less often, but it didn't work like that at all. :( I don't know if I should try it for another three months or give up and try something else. I think I've felt worse on the medication than I did before...

Endometriosis spreads..please don't wait, it's not worth it. You're really only covering up the pain, you need to get rid of the endometriosis. I waited and well you know what happened, so I won't post about it again or preach... I didn't do it when I should have either.

Oh Angie, it stinks that you're suffering. I hope you feel better soon.
Sheryl, I hope 2008 is a MUCH better year for you too!

I'm allergic to seafood but would attend just to meet you in person Janet!

I think I'll be home alone tonight which is fine. Joel got his room pretty much emptied out and the stuff hauled. Katie has my 2 grandbabies and they're being little terrors for her, so I nixed the taking them out since I refuse to reward bad behavior and they've REALLY had a round of it today. I'm going to visit them for a little while, but the little shopping trip they'd been looking so forward to isn't going to happen.

I think I'm just going to enjoy the silence and say a prayer of thanks for what I hope is shaping up to be a much more peaceful home to start the new year out in.

Angie, I hope that you start feeling better. I don't like it when you don't feel well. You definitely need to go back to the doctor as soon as you can.

Sheryl, I hope that your problems all get taken care of quickly and wonderfully very quickly in the new year so you can enjoy the rest of it.

Tink, I'm so happy that things are working out so wonderfully for you. It's been a long time coming but I'm sure that it'll be worth the wait. I hope that you and your husband really get closer with all the time alone that you're going to have!

Janet, I sure wish that you lived closer because I'd be there in a flash!!!! And not just for the seafood!!!!!! As for the going to bed at 9:00 if I were there we'd be having soooo much fun that you wouldn't want to go to be that early!!!!!

Mandy and Lindsey, I didn't mean to leave you out!!!

Mandy, your food sounds really good too. I love stir-fry!!! Are you having a party or did you just set this up for you and your husband!! It sounds really nice.

Lindsey, I hope that you enjoy your evening and have a Happy New Year. I hope that your plans work out and your relationships are happy ones this year!!!!!

We went to a friends house. They had all been drinking since 5 when we got there at 8 so they were pretty drunk & obnouxous. so my husband & i and another party goer that arrived late, played cards most of the night. There was a lot of drama. One of the drunk party goers was carring the hostess (who knows why) & dropped her into a wall. She began wailing & her drunk husband wouldn't let sober me take a look at her to make sure she was okay. This was at about 11:30; so my husband & I cleaned up their kitchen & put everything away. Waited til the ball dropped & then headed home. We drove our other friend to our house because she didn't feel she could drive, because of the amount she had to drink & the weather (8 inches had fallen while we were there). She crashed at our house. Every year at their house is an adventure to say the least, but at least the rest of the drunken party goers spend the night there so they were safe.

That is 3/4 of the reason we quit going OUT to celebrate. Don't know why people have to get so drunk out of their minds to enjoy something. I just don't get it. I drank one beer with my seafood supper and that was it. The other 1/4 reason is because I don't want to be out on the road with these people behind the wheel of a car. I'll just keep my family home where it's safe.

Sorry didn't mean to preach...there are other places you could go without dealing with drunks all evening. Maybe invite a few people to your place.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

Angie and Sheryl, I hope 2008 has you both feeling better.

Janet - I should have come over and then skipped over to Mandy's for good food.

I stayed home too - I never go out New Year's Eve - too many drunks on the road.

I dinner plans with a friend, but realized I really didn't want to drive. She didn't mind.
I fell asleep and lucky me!....I woke up at a quarter to 12!

I watched the ball come down,l welcomed in 2008 and went back to sleep happy.

I was so pleased to see Dick Clark - he looks and sounds a lot better. I'm glad the media realized that you don't have to be young and perfect - you can even be disabled and still be on TV. It was really nice to see that.
