I have finally proven a theory that I personally had started to doubt. What an uplifting revelation it is!

I now know it is possible to have every dish in the house clean and accounted for and every item of laundry clean and put away at the same time. Can you imagine that?!?! Up till now, I really couldn't.

For most of my life I've lived with kids... first my siblings, then my own offspring; that's where my doubts came from. I would get to what I thought was the last item, turn around, and there was more! It always felt similar to shoveling during a blizzard. It had to be done but it was never quite DONE.

My faith is restored. My trust is reborn. Finally I see the point of cleaning now that I can actually keep up!

I bet you were frozen in time Tink!! :p

Now that all those dishes are done, ask to be taken out to dinner. Who needs more dishes dirtied up anyway?

Tink, what are you going to do with all of your free time? Just think of what all you can do!!!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!

Tink, this is sooo amazing!!!! So very, very happy for you. You must be feeling extremely liberated!!! Hurray for you!!!

Tink

Thanks friends. I DO feel liberated, as Marilyn said.
For now I'm doing a thorough cleaning and organizing and rearranging things to suit my own needs. Once that's done I plan to do a bit of redecorating and remodeling.
By then it should be spring and I'll be able to work outside on my flower gardens.

I have accomplished more in the past 3 days than in the past 3 months and I'm able to pace myself and enjoy it. If I run out of things to do, I'll start sewing and crafting again now that I have a place to do it. Maybe I'll have another litter of pups which will also help to keep me busy. I really don't expect to run out of things to occupy my mind, but if I do I'll pick up another new hobby... There are a lot of things I haven't tried yet that could be fun. :D

Wow Tink...it's amazing isn't it to have everything done and in it's place? You are really going to start enjoying life again! I love it when the guys go camping with Scouts. As soon as they walk out the door I clean until time to go to sleep. When I wake up everything looks so nice and shiney and stays that way.....till they come home.....I'll keep my son a few more years hopefully.

Tink, don't forget to take time out to pamper yourself!! Read a book, take a long bubble bath, visit some friends. Now is the time to also do other things besides clean.

So Tink, what cha been doing?

Tink
01-08-2008, 11:14 AM
Diana, it doesn't take much to keep things done now that I'm here alone. :)

I have jumped into a new project that I'm really excited about, so am spending a lot of time online researching to figure out how to best go about it. If I can work it out like I plan to, it will keep me busy and having fun for quite some time. LOL

Once I know more I'll post about it and hopefully get some good ideas from all of you on it too. I just don't want to put the cart in front of the horse or it's not likely to get far. I'm just not someone who can sit and twiddle my thumbs... so need projects that I can do at my own pace.

Woohooooo! That's awesome. What a great feeling to have! I wonder that sometimes myself, and then last week I got all dishes, cleaned the kitchen surfaces, all my laundry AND all the Christmas decor put up in ONE day.

I wish I could be superwoman like that every day, haha.

I'm in negotiations with someone (who I have never met) who has a business (670 miles from me) that's near and dear to MY heart. I would help them to increase their business while earning some of what they sell in return. That's the first step of it...

So hmmmmmm what could it be?
What do they sell that I might want/need?
How could this work to the benefit of both of us?

I plan to then take what I get from them and add to a hobby I already enjoy some success with.

Anyone have any guesses? lol

Janet

Now you should know I can't think that good ( or is it think that well?)! You have a passion for so many neat things....something to do with flowers...gardening?????

That's what I was going to guess too. Something with your flowers or gardening. Hmmmmm........you like to sew...........you like to decorate............you like to raise puppies...............Gosh, Tink, you are so talented it could be anything!!! Does it have to do with the glass thingies that you put together last year?............I guess that I'll have to wait until you tell us..........

In OCt of '06 there was a devastating fire at this business. While the building and some of the equipment were insured, the owners took a huge financial loss and emotional blow by what was destroyed. 10 yrs of work in building their business and improving their product went up in smoke.

Since then, the rebuilding has faltered and they've struggled to stay afloat. It's questionable whether they will ever really get back to where they were. Recently, one of the co/owners had an accident and broke BOTH ankles which obviously made it very hard to work and keep up with all that needs to be done on a daily basis. This is a 24/7 type of operation, so for one person to handle it alone is just a killer.

So I stumbled onto their product being advertised, contacted them and am now trying to help them to get things selling again. What they have that I want is something I already have, but in a different, more desirable size.

Any ideas? LOL There are several clues here...

It actually happened in North Dakota... so until just recently I hadn't heard about it either but I dare bet it was rather big news in a few different circles when it happened. Very tragic.

So did I Diana. I googled North Dakota, fire October 2006. There was a fire that is spreading from one spot to another, I have no idea what they're talking about....BUT it did say something about websites. We know Tink is prolific at websites.

I just googled industrial fire, ND, 10/06. There was a huge fire at the Apex Chemical plant, which may have caused damage to the downtown area.

How's that so far Tink?

wow... that would have been a mess, but not the one I'm referring to.
This fire took place on Halloween 2006. Donnybrook Fire Department and Kenmare Fire Departments responded.

Tink

Ok the clue were...
it's a 24/7 type of business that you can't leave for a weekend and get away from.

Something valuable financially and emotionally was lost in the fire that insurance wouldn't cover.

I took them 10 yrs to develop something to the point they wanted... and will take time to do it again...

There is a real difference in what size of "product" you're dealing with.

DianaB

I figured it out!!!! But I'm not telling so Tink can keep you guessing!!! I will say that it was one area that I hadnt even thought of but should have!!!! I don't know exactly what Tink will be doing with the business but I know what she'll be involved with.

Well done Diana!
I figured some of you smarties would get it.
So since you know... As I said I plan to get a smaller version of something I already have...VERY much like what I already have but about 1/3 the size. So I can make smaller versions of it myself. ;) Mine now is much loved and will be kept for senitmental value, but I think taking this new path will be a step in the right direction. You think so?

Sorry to leave you hanging all... but I wanted to be more sure that this was going to happen before I got all crazy and started making announcements.

The fire I was talking about was at a kennel. The story is here for any interested.
http://www.kenmarend.com/kenmarenews/feature%20stories/feature108-45.htm
Absolutely tragic... so many dogs lost and the insurance company refused to pay since they're not "livestock" animals. And yes, I have done my homework... these are not "puppymillers" in spite of the lage kennel they had. If they were I'd be running... not just walking away.

So anyway, it now looks like I'm going to get my wish.

I'm going to be getting a "moyen" poodle to use as a stud. Moyens, for those who aren't familiar with the term, are a much smaller version of a standard. They are just barely large enough to be considered a standard poodle. He is registered as a standard, but will mature to 16-18" tall where my Moses is 24". He's expected to be under 30 lbs where Moses is 64.

Moses is a really good dog and the pups have been great... but because he's so big and his daddy is even bigger, the pups are very large and not everyone wants such huge dogs! Some of my pups will likely mature at close to 80 lbs and that's a lot of dog! I plan to neuter Moses and will of course keep him as my buddy.

So I am planning to have one more litter out of Canada and Moses while I wait for the new little guy to grow up and then keep a female out of them to use with the new boy. I also have breeding rights to one of the females from this last litter and will keep Canada as well. SO in time I will will have f1b pups which will be smaller and sell for at least 50% more than my large f1s.

My ideal is to have about 4 litters per year, so I am hoping to build up to that over time. This new little guy will be a great step in that direction.

I will be helping this couple to market their pups. My name won't appear anywhere on their business, but my experience in marketing and internet research will hopefully help them to reach more buyers, sell their pups easier, and make better use of the assets they now have without spending an arm and a leg to do it.

IF all goes as planned, it looks like my dh and ds will be taking a trip out to ND to pick up this new little stud muffin for me. The logistics of it all have been the biggest stumbling block. My health won't allow me to drive 12 hrs out and right back... and to have to get a hotel room just ads to the expense while leaving the dogs I already have unattended here at home. With those 2 sharing the drive, it's do-able in a weekend. (Did I also mention I get severe motion sickness from riding in a car? so would be a BAD one to take with as I'd need a barf bag as a passenger)

So anyway, I'm planning to expand my business and get into it on a deeper level with a higher generation and smaller size of labradoodles. Wooooohoooooooo!

Janet

I'm glad you finally told...I would NEVER have figured it out. Congratulations! I can't wait to see what the little one looks like.

I found the newspaper article on the fire but it wasn't without a lot of searching. Tink, I hope that all goes well for you in this. So if I understand correctly, you're going to change your breeding program with a smaller male and you're going to help this kennel to market their dogs. I think that it will be perfect for you and your expertise!!!

Tink - this is wonderful news! You are really expanding as a breeder. Is this a new breed you're starting, or are there other moyen/labs?

You're a wonderful person Tink to help this couple. I know you're getting something in return, but, knowing you, you'll put your heart into helping them too.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going tgo read the article. It sounds too sad, so are they staying in business, breeding, rehoming, what?

I'm really happy for you - you get to use a lot of your talents - breeding, website
stuff, helping this kennel out.

We need pictures!!
