I had to take my son's computer in to be worked on. The poor computer caught a virus and something else. So now my son will learn what it is like and how much it costs to have something repaired.
First thing he asked was "how much will it cost?"....LOL I asked him if it mattered and he said as long as it doesn't cost as much as a new one. He loves his laptop, he'll just be without it over the weekend. AND he's not using mine!!! I don't want a virus so I told him to borrow his Dad's...LOLOL

Aww, poor Ricky. It's tough to go without a computer if you're used to having one. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon and he won't get anymore viruses!

I hope it doesn't cost much either. My brother recommended this guy because he's really good and his costs are very reasonable. At 17, my son loves his email, myspace and playing this game called Runescape. It won't be too long a weekend though, today he is working all day and then has a basketball game tonight. He'll have Sunday, but he's got some things he needs to get done, so time should go fast and then Monday.....back to school...Christmas vacation is over....:tongue036:
I do let him check his mail and myspace, but that's it...lol

Uh oh! Is he addicted to Runescape?? My little brother used to play it ALL the time and Traci too. Now they are addicted to World of Warcraft instead. That's why Traci's never here anymore, lol.

I don't know if he knows of World of Warcraft, but he sure loves Runescape. I have to limit him sometimes because he could be on there all day if I'd let him.
I feel his pain! No computer is terrible. You ought to make him that eclair cake, and send me a piece while you're at it.
yep I feel for him to. Hate being without a computer or laptop... I hope that they don't charge you a lot to clean it. Just wondering if you can clean it yourself.. I know my kids do it. I guess you would have to ask Angie the computer expert lol
Hope he gets it back soon.

We tried everything we could think of. It was saying something like w32.exe no longer existed on the computer, plus some other things. I just didn't want to mess with it any more.

I'd have to send you the whole cake Judy, I started Weight Watchers last Thursday, so I won't be bringing any of that in the house. Besides, I only made it at Christmas...just too good not to eat all the time, so if it's not around...no problem.

I hope that Ricky gets his computer back and it's like new when he gets it!!! It's no fun to have your computer go down.
My daughter, Jaci, has a laptop that the school provides. Last year the whole high school had computers given to them for the year. The parents had to pay $35 for insurance in case of breakage and misc. This year the school even got computers for the middle school. I think just the 7th and 8th grades. It's been really nice for her to do her school work on. The school has filters and a lot of things are blocked but the kids can e-mail each other when they have spare time. I can send e-mails to my daughter during the day too, plus she can use it when she's at home.

What a neat idea! Maybe more schools will follow this example!

We just took his laptop in on Friday, but he's ready to go nuts already. Poor guy, I know how he feels, I don't think I could stand it if mine went down for even a day.

Hopefully it won't take long. Has he heard anything about it yet?

No, not yet. That's the first thing he asked when he got home from practice last night. No 'HI' or anything...lol Poor guy. I let him use mine to check email and MySpace, but he want's to play Runescape and I'm usually on my computer. Besides...I don't want a virus..he can wait awhile.

I told him not to expect it for a week. That way if it gets done sooner it will be a welcome surprise..lol

How clever! Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. :)
