Do you save unused prescriptions?

My hubby's bathroom cabinet is stuffed to overflow with meds that are probably 10 years old.

I have Prilosec OTC, Aleve, Visine, Bayer 81mg aspirin and the rest is cosmetic stuff. THANK GOD, my Rheumatoid Arthritis is in remission and I don't need to take all those pills and injections.

We also keep community medicine in a top kitchen cabinet that has childrens meds, allergy meds stomach meds, and general first aid supplies.

I go through our cabinet all the time. I don't want anyone to take a chance and take something old that could end up doing more harm.

I'm not sure. I know there are band aids in there. I don't really use the inside - just the mirror. It is full though. I'm going to have to take a look in there.

If you have old prescriptions you need to throw them out!!! Medicine can change over time! My daughter works in a pharmacy and she says that most medicine is good for a little longer than it's expiration date but then get rid of it!!!

I don't have a medicine cabinet in the bathroom but I have a cabinet where I keep band-aids, perfume, bath gel, razor blades, and lots of misc., and yes, it needs to be cleaned out badly!!!!! It's on my to-do list!!!!!!

I'm glad your rh is in remission. My mom had that and I always worried that I would get it. So far , I haven't.

I have basic first aide stuff; OTC things like Aleve, ibuprofen, Day quill and NiQuill, Benedryl, and Anti-diarrhea medicine.

I have my prescription stuff in a separate container in my bedroom so it's harder to get at since a couple of them are pretty deadly if misused and I wouldn't want any snoopy kids to get into them.

My "medicine cabinet" in the bathroom is full of my makeup, hairspray, nail polish, things like that. Medicines are in the kitchen pantry. We have all the normal stuff plus some leftover prescription items. I keep an eye on expiration dates and we have a clean out every once in a while.

Interesting note, I flush the unused and outdated pills down the toilet. I've had guys selling the multi-level marketing vitamins tell stories about how many pills don't get absorbed in the body and pass right on through. Of course, the ones they are selling will be absorbed in the body. They know about all the unabsorbed ones because they all know a guy who works for the waste department who has told them about all the undissolved pills in the sewer. Don't they realize that most of us flush this old stuff????
