I've been going through closets, drawers, cabinets, etc. and throwing things out, or packing them to bring to my daughter's.

I have about 1/3 of my small bedroom left, my linen closet and the bathroom (which shouldn't take more than an hour).

I haven't found a place yet, bur since I've worked up the energy, I'm plunging ahead.

I'm going to begin to pack things I don't use also - like papers and photographs.

I have to laugh - I really only need a one room apartment and maybe 2 closets. I have thrown out more stuff in the past few weeks!

I need you to come here and help me! You're doing so good. I know I should just get rid of so much and I have, it's all out in the garage waiting for a spring garage sale. I just really need to go back through again and get rid of more.

Wow, Judy!! You've been busy!!!! You're going to be ready to move as soon as you find a home!!! That will be really good because you'll be so excited about moving to your new place and you'll have all of that sorting and packing all ready done!! How is your search going? Have you gotten any closer to finding anything?

I think the reason I'm not having trouble is because I'm not trying to give anything away, sell it, save it, etc. It just goes right into the garbage. Hopefully, when the super goes through the garbage, he'll take anything he likes.

Of course, anything really valuable is going to Jessie. She has 9 bedrooms, a dining room, living room, kitchen, garage with rooms upstairs, and another building on her property.

I am going to donate the old cell phones - just going to drop them off at the local police station. I have 3 or 4 things to bring to the consignment shop, and if they don't sell, she donates them to charity. Books are going to a pet shop where they sell them and donate the money for animal rescue. They'll pick them up too.

If I come across anything else useful, I can find a church nearby and just drop it off.

I haven't found a place yet, but I will soon.

i've been doing the same, i have to throw things away when Hubby is not there, he goes threw the garbarge and puts things back, he drives me crazy...
we also been washing walls down, getting ready to paint, the kitchen and bathroom, and Micah's rooms are done, we have the livingroom, our bedroom and office to go yet, it's hard and i'm very tired, with a full time job and a ten month old at home.. cause will start washing walls when he goes to bed. and it's very hard to be quite and wash walls down, and were also doing it on the weekends... can't wait till its all done. :)

Haley, you know that we want pictures of it when it's all done!!!! It sounds like you're going to be busy for awhile. The old farm house that we used to live in I redid one room at a time and I had small children when I did it so I can understand trying to work with small children around. You'll get it done, just take your time. I loved this poem when my children were little and you may have seen it but just in case I'll share it with you......

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow,
For babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow,
So settle down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

love that poem,. never read it before. my mom taught me - when your baby is awake its baby time, when baby goes to sleep its cleaning time.... the only thing i do when he's awake is fold clothes with him on the floor, he loves to play with the towels, we play peek a boo...
i will take pictures, i have all the walls scrubbed down where there going to paint except the livingroom and my hubby was working on that yesterday, we get like a wall done per night, but i have a friend coming over in two weeks so well have it done by then . then its time to paint.. YA i can't wait.... we ordered two doors at Lowes yesterday, so they should be in 3-4 weeks... its coming along slowly.. but were paying cash for everything, been saving for 3 years, i hate credit cards... don't need the extra bills... especially with a baby...

Oh that so sounds like my husband. I'll throw something away, in a garbage bag and couple months later find it out in his garage. I act like I don't see it, wait till he's gone and take a hammer to it....then let him throw it out! :D

My ex-husband lives in my building. Now that Jess and I are talking again, he and I are friendly. Anything I come across that I think he'd want, I save for him.

Talk about a pack-rat! He's the king, but it finally came in handy for me.
I couldn't stand it when we lived together. Now, he's saving me a lot of trouble.

You live long enough, things have a way of working out!

I understand completely. My husband has a four car garage and up until recently you couldn't get one single car in. My son decided he wanted to park in the garage so he cleaned enough to get his car in so hubby decided to clean an area to get his in too.

Judy your so good.. I have a two car garage and two cars at home that sit outside, unless its going to snow my hubby brings them into the garage. Right now its packed with my daughters stuff from school, clothes.. furniture from her room. She is looking for an apartment come summer so I am shipping it all with her...lol

I am not a clutter person, I have given away many of things. I will tackle the garage again. I am forever cleaning out closets.. At least once a month, you be surprised on what you take in..

Judy what your doing is the best.....watch that back girl.. lugging up and down to the basement garbage. Have your ex help you.

I'm doing the book cases now. That's the end of it, except for my shoes.

Gins, I have to be careful with the4 ex. He already lives in my building and I know he's still in love with me. I discovered that big heavy duty garbage bags are really easy to drag to the basement.

It's a night train, it think 2003 or 2004, all chromed up, i have to find a picture of it and send it to my work computer so i can post it... when we go riding it takes him an hour and half to wash it before we go out.. He's insane with that bike, he even talks to it...

We have a full size basement so things don't gather in the garage too much. And when we have company coming my husband ALWAYS cleans the garage out. The rest of the house can look a mess but we'll always have a clean garage for company to walk through!!!! Can you tell that this is something that annoys me?

Diana,

If you fill the garage with dirty dishes and laundry maybe you can trick him into washing them.

Haley,
What's the bike's name? Testosterone does odd things to the brain!

Way to go Judy!
It's so liberating to cull out all the unnecessary "stuff". That much less to clean around, organize, and move!
