I have my first tattoo removal lazer treatment today. I am a bit nervous. I've heard it will hurt alot alot, & not so bad. Please keep me your prayers that all goes well.
I'm taking slippers incase it's really sore after & my little hippo so I have something to squeeze since my hubby won't be able to accompany me.

Thanks guys. It wasn't too bad. The used one laser for the black & one for the color. The black hurt just slightly more then getting the tattoo. However the last 10-15 seconds of the laser for color was pretty intense. I just bit my lip & squeezed my hippo & got through it fine. For the next hour it felt like a really bad rug burn that some evil little elf kept rubbing with sand paper. Then for the next 2 hours it just felt like a rug burn & after that i hardly had any pain at all. It looks like a scabbed over second degree burn this morning, but that's normal. It doesn't hurt at all anymore. so all in all the experience was good. Now I just have to keep it covered & moist so it can heal really well. I go in for a follow up on valentines day to make sure it's healing correctly. Now I'll just have to wait and see on the fading part. The nurse & the laser technician were very nice & let me babble on & on & on. I tend to babble when I get nervous. thank you all for your prayers, I know they helped.

I'm so glad everything went well. I'm sorry you had to endure the pain, but you knew ahead of time so I know you were prepared. Just do what they told you to do so it will heal up nicely. I'm glad this is nearing the end for you.

Well who knows how near the end I am because it could take several treatments, but I'm definitely a lot better. I've stopped being so hard on myself for making a mistake. I hardly think about it anymore. Everything's really fine. Hopefully I'm able to rid myself of it on the fast side of her estimate for sessions, but if not it'll be okay. I'm really excited for the scabbing to subside so I can see the fading start to happen.

I'm so glad that things went smoothly, but sorry that it was painful. :( I hope it heals very quickly and that the tattoo fades quickly as well. Good luck!
At least you got that begun! I hope it doesn't take too many visits.

Me too, taking care of it's a PITA. I got two little blisters last night where the bandaid didn't cover the treated area. I had to cut my bandaid so it fits better. It's really not too bad. I can't wait though until the scab comes off & I can see if I'm actually getting any fading.
Per the pictures in the pamlet I received I should be able to see at least some fading....so i'm excited.

Bit of good news: My tattoo area is still mostly covered with blisters & it's still red/purple, but there is a small area where it didn't blister that I can see the affects so far. This area is over where the petals were super faded all ready, but.......the part of the petal i can see is completely gone. If I look really close, I can see a very very faint line, but from far away my skin in clear. I know the rest of the tattoo probably won't be that faded once the blister is gone & I can see it, but I can at least see that's it's working. Yippee.

Yippee!!!! I'm so happy the treatment is working for you. I know how upsetting it was for you. I will keep my fingers crossed that you won't even need another treatment...how's that?

That's sounds awesome. I'm hoping for only 3 treatments personally. I just can't wait for this blister to disappear. I've never let a blister heal on it's own I tend to be a picker, so this is so frustrating. My husband says it will go away so I'm trying to be patient, but it's driving me nuts. But I don't want it to scar.

The blister skin finally came off & the tattoo is 80% gone. I'm trying to decide whether I want to get another treatment on March 10th or wait til the fall. What's left is hardly noticable & you can't tell it was ever a tattoo. If I wait til fall it might continue to fade & i would get the most out of the first treatment. I have attached a picture. I'm going to make an appointment to see my nurse & see what her thoughts are. Thank you for all the support.

Looks like it's healing up nicely. Don't forget to take the bandage off once in awhile to let it get some air too. If you're a picker (I am too) then it's best to cover it during the day and take the bandage off while you sleep.
Won't be long now and it will be a tattoo of the past.
