Lynne (and her hubby) and I went to the dog show in Indianapolis yesterday. It was so much fun!! There were soooo many dogs and I want one of each one of them...well almost each one. I definitely want a Chihuahua. I should have stopped and talked with the owners, but didn't. Some times I just don't feel comfortable doing that.
There were a lot of booths, but really didn't see anything I wanted to buy. I did end up getting a couple magnets that I liked. It was really just a fun day.
Good for you Janet!
I bet it felt good just to get out and do something thing YOU enjoy.

If you find a good Chi breeder, let me know. I'm not planning to add to the family anytime soon, but it's good to research just in case!!!
So glad you had a wonderful time!!!

I'm glad that you and Lynne had a good time at the dog show. It's so nice to get out and do something with someone else. I know that I really enjoyed my weekend not just meeting Sheryl but going antiquing with my aunt. I know that I feel so upbeat and refreshed today.

That's great Diana...I guess we both just needed to get out. Did you find anything while shopping?

Here we have 4 Yorkies and our Golden in the house and when I got home from the dog show I told my husband I really wanted a Chihuahua. He said if I got one I might as well get two...because I'd want to breed them. Well, I don't want to breed Chihuahuas, but if I find two (preferably females) I'll get them and have them spayed. That'll teach him....LOL!!!! Just kidding of course, but I really would like one spayed female.
I'm jealous right now. I've been stuck int he house for TOO long due to this insane weather. I'd LOVE to get out and meet up with a friend and just relax. I might just go a bit nuts when I'm finally able to.
I am so glad for both of you though... I can really empathize with cabin fever and family obligations keeping you grounded.

I found a few things! I found the tiniest little china doll. She's only about 3 inches tall and she looks like the black headed porcelain dolls only she's much, much smaller. Her legs have been dipped in ink but she's still cute. I don't collect dolls but she was so cute and tiny that I couldn't resist. She'll look cute with my children's dishes.
I also got a black shelf that needs to be cleaned and painted to go in my dining room. The curtains that I'm sewing are black and I think that this will be really cute once I get things all put together.
I bought an antique picture frame that has the curved glass. Several of my aunts have taken them and put pictures and momentos in them and they look really neat. Here's a picture of one that I've already done. The one I bought has a different frame and isn't oval.
I got a few other things. Not much but it was fun getting out. I found some antique furniture but not quite in the style that I'd like to have. The furniture there was priced really good so I'm going to have to go back and look again. A lot of the fun is just being with my aunt. She keeps me laughing and we always have a lot of fun together!!!! She's more like my big Sis instead of my aunt!!!!!

What a cute little doll Diana! I've never seen anything done like that with the picture frame.....I love it! Now, next time I'm out...I'll have to see if I can find one. Does yours have a story to tell?

Yes, it does! The wedding picture is my husband and I with pictures of the kids to the right of us. The blue fabric is a piece of my wedding gown and my wedding ring (don't know if you can see it) is tied to a ribbon on the gown. There's a clock that used to be on a necklace that I wore when my husband and I dated. Then there's the glasses I wore when we got married. Also, the years that we graduated from off of our graduation tassels. The other things I added just to fill in. I thought that it turned out pretty neat. I need to take it apart and fix the necklace because it's coming unglued. I'm not sure what I'm going to put in the one that I bought, but I got a good price for it.
Diana, that is SO neat!
I love how the piece is so personalized and classy looking.
Diana you did a wonderful job with your photos and mementos .. You are so creative.. I love the little china doll. I like antiques to not much of a collector though. Glad you had a fun weekend...
Janet I have never been to a dog show sounds like you had fun. All I have been doing lately is working. Not complaining but I need some time for meeee.

Diana I love everything about the frame. Did I read right that your wedding ring is in there too? I'm curious why you don't wear it, but it's okay if it's none of my business. I want to do something like that too. I really love it!

You would love it Gina. All the different breeds and really for the most part, everyone is so nice and willing to share information and let you take pictures. We all need time for us and I really enjoyed spending it with Lynne and her hubby at the dog show.

Yes, it's my real wedding ring that's in there because when we got married we couldn't afford much and for my 20th anniversary my husband bought me a new ring. The engagement part of my old set has a solitary diamond and when my daughter, Amy, got married they couldn't afford a set so I gave her my engagement part but the wedding band is a very, very thin band and she wanted something wider. So I put it in the frame.
My son has my husband's wedding ring and wears it daily. My husband couldn't wear it and we couldn't have it stretched (long story) and there was a design all the way around it so we didn't want to have it sized, plus he never wore it because of being around equipment all the time. I had it laying out when I was putting the frame together and my son was there and, well, I just gave it to him.

Some of my aunt's have made some. They put a copy of my grandparent's wedding license with their wedding picture inside with an old pen and glasses. Another one has a picture of my Grandma with all of her brothers and sisters in it with glasses and gloves and a pearl necklace. They are so beautiful!!! My frame had a reverse painting on the glass and I had to scrape it off to clean the glass. It took some work but the frame was worth it!!
