When I came home this weekend my daughter carried my luggage into the bedroom for me. A little later I went in to get my camera and look what my husband had done while I was gone!!!! I was so surprised!!! There's little coupons tucked here and there around the room as well! We have a Valentine's banquet at church on Friday night and he has to be gone. I wasn't very happy about it and so this is what he did to make it up to me! Isn't he the sweetest!!!!!!!

Wow, what a sweetheart!!!!!!! My hubby isn't the type to do that. He'd more likely do some cleaning for me or something.

You have a special guy there, Diana!!!!!!!

He didn't used to be this way but a few years ago he changed and he makes me feel very treasured. He really goes out of his way to spoil me sometimes. I don't know what started it but it's really nice.

Diana, I'm so glad he's so good to you.
You are such a good hearted person that you deserve the same in return. How wonderful that he values you. That is the way it should be!

What a sweetheart Diana. You are very lucky to have someone to make you feel that treasured. I suspect you make him feel the same way.

I took down all the little coupons that my husband had placed around the room and he came in as I was trying to figure out if I had found all of them and he told me that he threw away the coupon that was good for a vacation of my choice!!!! He doesn't know that IF I CHOOSE, I CAN GO WITHOUT HIM!!!!!!!! I can't believe that he didn't give me all of the coupons!!!! I think that I'm going to make him pay up on ALL of the coupons that he did give me!!! Hahaha!!!! Gotta' love him!!!!

So....Diana....if none are too personal...are ya gonna tell us what the coupons are for?....LOLOL

I think that they're just a booklet that he bought at Wal-mart. He tore them apart and they were placed all around the room. Any way, here they are:

This coupon entitles you to:
-A trip to your favorite Boutique (I figure that's another word for flea market!!)
-Maid service for a day - put your feet up and relax
-A moonlit walk on any night you choose
-Breakfast in bed - your favorite flowers included (I doubt that the flowers will be there beause it will mean a trip to town!)
-Dessert extravaganza at your favorite sweet spot!
-Full-body massage
-A night on the town including dinner and entertainment!
-Bubblebath by candlelight for two!

You notice that there's eight coupons and I bet there were ten to start with so he threw away two!!!!!! Anyway, I'm thinking that I can put everyone of them to good use!!!!!! I had better use them quickly because once he gets busy I'm sure that they're not much good!!!!!

Oh, he's a honey! But I have to laugh - men are so funny - he told you that you that he threw away the vacation coupon? Has he never met you before? Does he still have no idea that you don't need the coupon for a vacation?

But, still a good man!

The Story of the Alabaster Eggs

My ex moved into my home and our first Valentine's Day arrived. My daughter and I had our ritual down pat. We would go to the card store, separate, pick out each other's cards, gifts and a box of candy. We would ask for our gifts to be gift wrapped and I would pay for everything, without "peeking" at my stuff. We would take our bag to our car, get in, rip open our gifts to each other, read the cards (to be signed and hung up later), and then eat our candy. Usually, about half the candy was eaten by the time we got home. It worked beautifully for us. My gift for several years was a different little statue. I still have them. Jessie's was a stuffed animal that said "I Love you" or had a heart on it. As she got older, the gifts changed until we always gave each other a Valentine's mug. I have all but one packed up for her to use with my grandchildren now.

When we set out on our V Day fun fest, we simply included the card, gift (I forget what) and box of candy for Joel. V Day was just not a problem. We didn't know yet how insecure Joel was in this relationship. He had no idea how to handle two of us and searched store after store for the perfect gift.

We were happily finishing our candy when he finally came home. His card, gift and candy were waiting for him on the table and we fully expected to help him eat his candy. He presented us with our gift; no card, no candy. "What was wrong with this person," we thought. Doesn't he watch TV? Everybody knows the rules!

What was his gift that took hours to find? An egg carton filled with different color alabaster eggs. Jessie and I broke into laughter when we saw it. It was pretty, but what could you do with it? Where was our candy? We knew right then and there that Joel was going to have to be brought up properly under our tutelage!

As I was just going through my house cleaning out what I don't need anymore, I came across the carton of alabaster eggs. I looked at it and laughed, and then I
gently put it into the garbage bag. That part of my life is over and I don't need that particular memento anymore, but I will keep the memory.

Yes, he tried! But, after 12 years, I finally arrived at the conclusion that trying just doesn't cut it. Hence, divorce #2. We did have fun together though and he is the world's best stepfather.
