While I was in Calif my daughter helped me set up an ebay account so I could buy and sell stuff. I've sold 14 items already, I'm pretty excited about it. I'm pretty good at crocheting and needlepointing so I may do a few things and see if they sell. It'll keep me out of trouble.
It's funny, I find myself looking around the house and wondering what things are worth.:p I was even going though Maggie and Baileys doggie outfits to see what they don't wear anymore.:D
So far I've only sold medical type supplies, and they went like hotcakes. I tried donating them to my Moms doctors office, but they didn't want them.
Any ideas on ebay selling?

Kathy, e-Bay is awesome. I've sold old pots and pans and been amazed at what they brought. I sold a shawl I bought at the Gap that my family did not like. My girls used college text books. It's amazing what people will buy. And some things I was sure would sell were duds, but at least you're not out much if they don't sell.
One of my goals is to get organized an have a big sale on e-Bay!!

Great! Now can your daughter please go teach MY mom how to ebay so she'll quit asking me? She's in CA too! I love eBay. I've sold and bought so much crap on there. I sold half of my clothes one summer and made $800! You'd be amazed at what people will buy on there....I sold my admittedly USED bathing suit for what I paid for it brand new. Sickos!

I've really got to try this ebay thing...LOL. I've bought a few things, not many. I did try selling a fleece dog coat I made, but didn't even get a hit. Maybe if there is anything left from my garage sale, I'll see if it will sell on ebay.

I love e-bay and I've sold some stuff on there but mostly I'm a buyer. I do think that it's a great way to get rid of some stuff. You never know what might be a treasure for someone else.
An idea for you.....is to check the items that have sold in the last 30 days to get an idea of what your item is worth. You can do that by clicking on the words "advanced search" right beside the search button. Put your item in and click the square that says "completed listings" then click on search. It's very easy. Then the one that sold the best I try and do some of the same things that they did so mine will sell better. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. Good luck!!!!

:o I just did that one, but it was on Amazon and for my brothers upcoming birthday. *goes to look for party supplies for the three year olds upcoming birthday*
I use to frequent ebay a lot, selling and buying. I have sold some designer handbags, wallets bedspreads, shoes you name it. Do what Diana said check out the closed auction to see what they sold for. I also have brought different things that I collect it is very addiciting... Just be careful if your buying designer stuff they have many fakes on there.
Ebay is one of my favs! I'm bidding on a pocketbook, a micro umbrella and a digital
picture frame today. I've been using Bid Assistant so I don't make myself crazy.
I just bought pee pads, frontline plus, dog ID tags for all of Jessie's dogs, gifts for my grandchildren, and I can't remember what else. I'm always on eBay. Whatever I need, I check out there.
I never sold there. It sounds like a lot of work, packing and shipping and so on.
My daughter is selling stuff now.
Kathy - what's your seller name?

I'd be glad to help. If you have a good set of scales then you don't have to weigh the item at the post office and can purchase your postage on-line. It works great and I've used it several times myself. Then to pick it up you can probably have your mail man come up to the house and get it. You'd have to check with your post office and see how to contact him when you have a package to mail.
It is easy to sell on e-bay but the first time is kinda'scary. When you get ready to do it call me and we'll go through it together.
Judy just be careful as to what bags that your buying on ebay. If they are designer bags make sure they are authentic. As far as being on ebay myself I been awol for awhile. I did sell bags, wallets and other stuff. It is not hard to do Janet just weigh your items with box and use this calculation.

I'm losing out on the bag. I love the look of it, and so I bid. I have learned my "designer" lesson. I bought a genuine Christian Dior wallet that was plastic inside when it came! Do you think I should have realized it was a scam when it cost $12.00?

Judy of course!!! 12.00 is way to low. I have sold some of my coach bags on line authentic that is. I look to buy sometimes on ebay, but you really really have to know your designer.. Good luck!

I must have had a blond moment! And I got mad when I received a fake:(

Hi Everyone!
My mom (katcarasella) was a model student, but it is quite easy! All you have to do is go in and choose a user name and password and register for an account intially for both EBAY and paypal if you do not have one yet. To buy and sell, rather than just "browse" you will need your ATM/debit card or a checkbook to "register" your bank information. Paypal is the median EBAY uses to accept and pay for items, as I am sure most of you are familiar since you have great AVITARS like my mom and probably donated to this site. Ebay is a great way to sell stuff, collect the money in paypal and support whatever online shopping you would like to do.
If you are fairly serious about selling you can browse the internet for a STOCK photo of an item or take a digital photo of it and click the sell it now area. I can answer any questions that you have, but it sounds like there are a ton of "well versed EBAY people here" too! Books are SUPER easy to start with, since they have an ISBN number on them that you can enter and all of the information is brought up automatically...super easy. I hope that my mom resumes EBAY with her books now. Books can be shipped via media mail too, which is SLOW but very reasonable.
Smiles and off to bed, TWO sick kiddos with temps tonight...FUN!:(

Thanks for the info, Jenn. Sorry about your kids being sick. It's going around. That fever thing has been going through my family too. My son-in-law has it now but I think that we're about to get through with it. If the kids are coughing we have a new idea for that. Put Vicks on the bottom of their feet. My husband and I both did it and it worked for us. Hope everyone gets to feeling better soon.
Thanks Jenn. I have as lot of books to get rid of. Maybe?

Judy, if you have a lot of books to sell then I've heard that Half.com is the way to go on selling them.
Actually, there's a pet shop nearby that's selling books to raise funds for a different animal charity each month. If he'll pick them up, I'll donate them gladly.
