We have the Ornerest Pastor!!!

We have a pastor with such a great personality! He and my husband are always going around on things and it often comes up during his sermons and everyone laughs!! My husband is the treasurer of the church and makes the church deposits so today he took the deposit to the bank but before he went inside he got a call from the church secretary and ended up talking to Pastor. Before he got off of the phone it ended up that Pastor needed to call my husband back. Instead of waiting my husband went on into the bank to make his deposit and his phone rang in there. He answered and Pastor said "Are you in the bank?" My husband said "Yes." Pastor said "Is your speaker phone on?" My husband said "No." The Pastor said really, really loud "THIS IS A HOLDUP!!!!" When my husband told me we both cracked up laughing!!!

How funny!!! It is good to have a little humor in each day. It is good that your husband has a great relationship with your pastor.

Diana that is the funniest story I've heard in a long time. The pastor should join us on 4 WT, he could be the man on the Ask a man forum, you should ask him if he'd be interested in the position. I'm sure he'd have a funny response to that request. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

No, the teller didn't hear our Pastor but my husband was laughing and told her anyway! I really enjoy our Pastor and his wife! They're such wonderful people! They're Zach's grandparents too. They're planning on leaving this fall after being here for 10 years. It's going to be so hard to have them leave.

On the first Sunday of each month the Children's Church comes in the sanctuary and they collect all the change that's in people's purses and pockets to go towards a project. Usually it's a few cents or a couple of dollars that you don't miss. Anyway a couple of months ago our pastor started giving out dollar bills. When he got done he looked at Glen and said "Glen, do you have a five dollar bill?" Glen looked and said "Yes." Then Pastor said "Glen, do you have a ten dollar bill?" And Glen said "Yes." (By the way as he's saying this his bills and Glens's bills are being added to what the kids are picking up!!) Then he says "Glen, do you have a twenty dollar bill?" Glen's getting a little bit flustered by this time but he says "Yes." Then.........sure enough he did it again, "Glen, do you have a fifty dollar bill?" Glen reluctantly told him yes. Then he said "Glen, do you have a one hundred dollar bill? Oh wait, we won't go there!!" My husband was so relieved because, yes, he had a one hundred dollar bill!!! Of course, buy the time it was over everyone was laughing!!! I told my husband that he should have said "I think that Roger has a fifty dollar bill too!" and passed it around!!!!

Your pastor sounds amazing. Our pastor left several months ago and I still miss him and his wife. They had been Angela's youth director at another church so we had known them for a long time. I never talk to them now. maybe you can keep in touch with yours.

We had a female Pastor for quite some time. She was very nice, but didn't really fit into our little country church. I had quit going for a while too, because I caught her in some lies. I need to get back now that we have a new Pastor.

Gee didn't mean to go THERE...lol. Your Pastor sounds like a hoot. Hopefully you'll all stay in touch and remain friends for many years to come.

Your pastor sounds like a riot. I had a really funny pastor like that when I was growing up. He had a real talent for getting young people to come to and to stay in church. I wish I could find another pastor like that again.

He and his wife are both wonderful. She called me this morning to see how I was liking my new stove. Wasn't that sweet?

Don't you just love your Pastor? He sounds SO much like our Pastor, whom we ADORE I might add! Isn't it great to have a leader who shows that the joy of the Lord is their strength?!?
