OK, I get upset every time I go to the deli's around here. In the old days, you would find a chart on the deli counter that had slice measurements. You could say sliced #1 or #2 and so on.
Now, what do they do!!!!! They do not have the chart and they take a slice and wave it around in the air, "Is this the right size"? At this point, I don't care. Just stop waving the food around and picking up all of the germs from the person standing next to me that just sneezed.
That has got to be a health code violation!! Some of the people in the deli have gotten the hint (a rather loud, please stop waving my food in the air to pick up germs). But my goodness, what is going on?
Does you deli do this?

I always think of Seinfeld's soup nazi when I visit the deli section of our store - you tell them what you want, they glare at you - and then slice it the same way for everyone.

Do you also notice they don't clean the slicers after each different meat? Oh they have it on that apper, but not on the blade, or where there is more meat than paper...too gross for me.

I don't care for delis because I don't care for sandwiches. I very seldom eat at one.
I wouldn't want them waving my meat in the air either! Yuck.
Do they wear gloves? Here they seem to be cleaner.

Too funny. You are right. I don't ever remember those charts. The bonus of the 'wave' is that you can sometimes ask them to 'try' it...taste it to make sure it's the right thickness/thinness!
