I have a spare room that has turned into a 'toss it and forget it' situation.
It is a mess. I promised myself this summer I would clean it up to make it a usable room. My plan is to turn it into my exercise room.

First thing to go:
A small antique pew that I had to have and bought at a auction 20 years ago. A friend of mine has a large pew, her mother has a large pew, and Michellle's daughter who is graduating from high school this summer wants one so she can continue the tradition of every generation having a pew. Michelle saw mine, fell in love with it, so I sold it to her. She is giving it to her daughter. Picking it up tomorrow.

I have a large square coffee table that I have been thinking about getting rid of. I love the table, but large for my living room. I want to downsize. So I mentioned to a friend at work that I was selling it. She came over after work, liked it, will be picking it up Saturday.

I have a antique bed with matching dresser in my spare room. I aquired it after my grandmothers death 4 years ago. I really didn't have room for it, didn't want it, but nobody else would take it, so I have it. Well... Wanda knows that story and asked if she could see it while she was here seeing the table. She wants both pieces!! I told her I would talk to mom tonight to make sure it is ok with her that I sell them.

So, I will have a load of space in my room! Just have to clean up the clutter and I am good to go!!

This really is the summer that I will have the room to use and enjoy! No more closed doors to hide the mess.

Happy, happy, and I have a few dollars to boot.

YEA!!

Good for you, now if I could just get motivated and stay off this 'puter', I could declutter my garage. Janet, can you help me? LOL

That's great!! I just finished getting rid of a bunch of stuff in a garage sale. Would hurt to get rid of some more either....LOL. I wish I had one more room., then I think I could live comfortably.

Let us know how it goes - maybe you'll motivate some of us to get some projects done around the house!

Well done!
Seems here every time I get a room emptied out someone moves into it.
Be careful no one knows you have any extra space... it seems to attract them! :p

I'm with Tink. I've piled everything into my sewing room to make room for kids moving in. I wish I could talk hubby into building an apartment over the garage, but if we build it they will come!

I am almost past the point of being able to walk in my sewing room. There's a baby walker and swing for when the g-babies come, an empty computer table because one of the kids "borrowed" my desktop, and my glider/exercise machine is folded against the wall because there's no extra floor space in there.

Then, there's the attic!

That's great, Shada! It's always nice to declutter a room and actually use it again. I've been letting things pile up in my daughter's bedroom since she moved out. It's definitely time to straighten it up before it gets too bad! It's on my agenda!!!! :sidesplit:
