My Mom came out for a little while after church today. She told me that when she got out of bed this morning at 5:30 there was a man sleeping on her couch. She couldn't tell who it was so went ahead and made her coffee and did some odds and ends in the kitchen.

My brother's wife called her at 8:00 and mom told them there was a man sleeping on the couch and she told my mom they would be right there.

Turns out, the man's mother lived next door and sometime after midnight came home, but into the wrong house. My brother has made sure now that Mom's doors lock properly and hopefully something like this doesn't happen again. It could have easily been a bad situation.

I can't believe my Mom let his guy sleep for 2.5 hours and didn't call anyone.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad everything turned out alright and that your Mom's lock works now.

How did that man not know he was in the wrong house???

OMG How scarey is that, does the guy have a drinking problem? I'd of been out of that house in a split second. Probably at the neighbors house calling the police from there.

OMG ! Janet your mom wasn't scared just went about her morning routine. Wow I like Kat would have ran out and called the cops. Doesn't she lock her doors?. Thank God nothing happened...

That is so frightening - did you say why she waited so long to call someone?

I can't imagine this! Your mother must really be a unsuspecting person! If it had been me, I would have got out immediately and called police!
How scary!!!

I am so glad it turned out to be the neighbors son who came into wrong house, although like others I have to believe he was drinking to not know he was in the wrong house.

Your mother is a very lucky woman. It could have been very bad. Tell her for me to keep those doors locked!!!

I couldn't believe she didn't call or get out of the house either. She said she wasn't scared at all, she just couldn't tell who it was. At one point she thought it could have been my son, but then realized it wasn't.

The guy had been out drinking, but I still don't see how he could not know he was in the wrong house. My brother was wanting to call the police, but Mom said no, just wake him up. My brother woke him up and the guy apologized like crazy Mom said.

I would have left immediately and called the police.

hmmm your mom sure sounds like a laid back sort of person! I can not imagine just going about her day, figuring she'd find out who it was when he woke up! She must scare you half to death! (now if she was in college and this happened, well, that I could understand)

I am so glad she is OK. I am very bad about not locking my doors or locking it with the key in it on the outside. I think I will be more careful now. I would have freaked out. Your Mom is so brave. I hope I have her spunk at her age. (I sure don't now)

Since everything turned out to be alright, I think that it's really funny!!!! Your Mom saw some strange man sleeping on her couch and just left him there!!! While she calmly went about her morning!!! :sidesplit: I can hear all of her children saying "Mom, what were you thinking leaving that strange man on your sofa?" and your Mom replying, "But he was sleeping so soundly that I didn't want to wake him." Oh my!!! I really am glad that everything turned out well. At least now you know that the door doesn't lock properly.
