Does anyone have any older female friends?
I have alot of them that are in their late 70's close to 80. They still live alone and take care of themselves. i hope I can do that if and when I get that age.

I've always gotten along better with older women. Guess I'm just more mature! :yelrotflmao:

Me, too, Nicole! I love spending time with my grandmother. I think older women have so much widsom and life experience that I can learn from.

My friend Paula is probably the oldest female friend that I have. I think she's in her 60s.

I get along great with the ladies I work with... They're anywhere from 15-25 years older than I am.
One of my best friends is.... Gosh, I don't even know. 16 years older than I am. (I think!)

I have lots of older friends. Many of them are in their 70's and 80's. They are so sweet, and have such wisdom. Anyone who does not take the time to get to know the elderly, is missing out on a treat. They've lived the history we read about in books and have such a wonderful perspective on the past. They are, for the most part, unhappy with the prospects for the future given our current social and political environment.

Several years ago (and I mean several), I was a lifeguard at a private pool here in town. I became great friends with several of the ladies who came and hung out at the pool each day with their kids (actually babysat a good bit for them and ended up teaching their kids how to swim). To this day, we are all good friends and they are enjoying life as grandparents:) Hard to believe these kids that I once babysat or taught how to swim are now married with kids of their own!! I treasure their friendship immensely.

I have quite a few older friends and cherish them beyond belief. So many wonderful stories of the past and advise for the future. :)

I may be that older woman you're talking about! I'm 42, and I have young friends but I use to have several older friends who were just as much fun as my friends of the same age or younger. Two of them have passed away now and I don't really get to see the other women too much since we moved.

well,i guess i am one of these "older"friends.I am 62 and holding my own.I think that age is prymarily a state of mind.I know people that are much younger than myself according to the calender. But in theire hearts and attitutes they are much older than i.We can't help that the time keeps slipping trough our fingers (so to speak)but we can help wheter we let it pull us down with it.And when you refuese to let people force you into the old age catagory just because you were born a few years before them than you can stay young within , no matter what the calender say's.I fully intend to be able to take care of myself with the help of God when i am 70 or 80 and even longer if the lord allows me to still be here. There is something to be said to have lived a long life and gained a lot of wisdom to help others with .

I enjoy talking to older people, they have seen so much and they sure have experience!
I have an older female friend, she's like my second mother, i go to her for advice and talks, and you know the funny part? She's always right! I love her to bits!!
I can talk to her about anything and everything, coz she understands.

I'm with you!! At 51 I have a couple of older friends, but I'm getting to the age where most are going to be younger. It's sad that as we inch toward what is suppose to be our "Golden" years, that we have to lose so many friends and family to get there. :(

I also seem to relate more so with older women. Tink is older than I am and we have always gotten along really well. I guess I am old school when it comes to a lot of my ways. I was an only child for several years and when my half sister's came along I had to grow up really quickly. I also have another close friend who is in her 60's I believe. We have become close friends too. To be honest both of them have been almost like mother figures for me. So it works out well for me.

I'm 28 and I have a friend who's over 65. We get along great we both love horses (in fact that's how we met - I grazed my horse on her land) and we both love dogs. We've both started doing agility too. Her dog is much better than my two because her dog is a working dog by breed (A huntaway-cross) whereas my two are yorkies who sometimes have different ideas than me about what they should do.
LOL!

I'm the same way i did have some friends that were older than me when i was working but now that i stay at home i haven't talked to any of them
I guess age doesn't mean much to me because I have freinds who are older and ones who are way younger than I. I do enjoy talking with people older than myself to get the advantage of their experience, but I have some very wise younger friends as well.
Right now I think my friends range from 20 to 64... and I'm 51.
