I really do! I have just been SO busy with work and friends. This is my first week at my new job and I'll be working 59 hours I think. Yesterday I worked from 8am to 10pm. It was exhausting, but I must say that I really love my job. I work with really awesome sweet people and I am learning more and more everyday. I never thought it'd be so much fun to develop prints! It's always interesting to see what people feel is worth remembering. I've seen some really interesting pictures the past few days. LOL

So would you like to know what I do all day? I get to rip apart disposable cameras to get the 35mm film canister out. I use a pretty interesting device to pull the film out of the canister. (Only a little so that the pics aren't exposed to light.) I run the film through our developer machine. I use a dark bag to change the film paper. It's a really interesting device that keeps light from exposing the paper.

It's so hard to learn how to do it when you can't see what you're doing! Once you open the paper in the bag, you HAVE to get it right though. If you pull your hands out you've ruined a whole day's worth of photo paper. I had to keep trying for about a half hour the first time before it worked. LOL I get to cut the developed negatives into manageable lengths. To do this, I get to use another pretty cool device. I hook the film in and then turn on a light underneath so I can see where I need to cut, then I cut and slide it across to do the next strip.

That's just the main stuff. I guess the point is, I really really enjoy it! :) I mostly work with two other women who are around my age. I may convince one (or both) of them to stop by here sometime. :) I don't think I could have found a better job for me at this point in my life. I love going to work every day!!

Sound interesting Angie. I wonder if it's pretty much the same thing they do at Wal Mart? I love watching them working back there in the photo dept.

It probably is similar. I'm not sure what equipment Wal-mart uses, but we have a Fuji minilab.

Wow! If you have to work so many hours I'm glad you like it! One of my favorite classes I've ever taken was a photography developing class. (in the days before digital:rolleyes:) I loved working with all of the stuff in the dark room. Enjoy yourself!
