I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day! We mostly worked around the house, planted some flowers, cut the grass, cleaned a little, took Micah out for a couple of walks and played ball with him in the back yard, i got him a big ball and he loves it... so it was a good weekend.. Did some grilling too..

Haley sounds like you had a good family weekend!

We had a pretty relaxed weekend. Crystal spent the weekend with our friends and Bobby and I went their for a cookout last night. A couple of his friends were there and we celebrated my friends mom's birthday. She is such a precious lady so we had a really good time.

We cooked out on Sunday night and went hiking yesterday. We're grilling out again tonight too. :)

We had a wonderful weekend. Had our grandson who is 17 months old today.
We got him on Friday night and took him back to mom (my oldest daughter)
yesterday afternoon. They live 2 1/2 hours away and we try and get him for 1 weekend a month to give her a break. She is a nervy norm right now trying to plan a wedding for July. Brayden got to help the grandfolks finish planting the garden. The weather here was great.:)

Ours was wonderful, too. On Saturday my son had his Eagle Scout service project. He built a butterfly garden in the county park. He has been putting this project together for over a year. The weather was perfect, he had 38 people come out and volunteer and it turned out so beautifully! We are really proud of him. Then on Sunday we just barbecued at home for us and Monday we went to a picnic out church had that was tons of fun. I don't ever remember the weather being so gorgeous for the whole weekend!

I was in Austin with the girls on Saturday for a shower for Melissa. Sunday was my birthday, so the girls took me out to a really good restaurant there for supper Saturday evening and then I drove back home. They gave me a Yankee candle, and the absolute best birthday cards ever. I cried when I read them. They are such a blessing. Then drove home.

Sunday was quiet, went to church and out to eat with friends.

Monday we went to our place in the country that we are selling and sorted through some of my parents old things. Picked out what we want to keep and what's going to the trash. There's not much of value left, and I'm not up for a garage sale right now, so we're just getting rid of much of it. At least this is one chore to check off the list. We need to sell the place. It's more than we have time to take care of. Land has to be maintained, or nature tries to take it all back, and we just don't have the time to maintain it. I could not believe what some of it looked like. Hadn't been back there in years. Huesache coming up everywhere. A huge grapevine had completely covered a windmill and cistern out in the back pasture. It was neat to walk under, but needs to be cleared away. The bittersweet sale of this property is one monkey off our backs.

We went to a best friend's daughter's wedding on Saturday. It was very beautiful and they had a supper and a dance afterwards. We ended up dancing with the grandkids and had such a good time. Glen and I actually danced quite a bit (which he doesn't usually do). My feet hurt soooo bad by the time we left!! But it was worth it!!

I had a video of the story, Cinderella, that the bride, her brother, and her sister did with Dae Lynn and Amy when they were all little. I hadn't seen it for such a long time and it was hilarious to watch again! Then the bride danced with her Dad to the song, Cinderella, by Steven Curtis Chapman.

On Sunday we didn't do much except for church. Monday it rained so my husband took our granddaughter, Daya, to the pond by the house and caught several fish (including a 10 pounder--all catfish) so we had the kids come over and we had a fish fry, a few couldn't come. We were going to play cards or something but the guys were so worried about the rain that they left to move the equipment to higher ground. The fish was wonderful!!!

Usually we don't have "holidays". When it's time to work, you work. Our holidays fall when we're caught up on work! Being self-employed has it's ups and downs.

Sounds like a beautiful wedding. It also sounds like you had a good time with your husband and the grandkids. Sorry the weather interrupted. I owned a business at one time and it can be really scary at times.

Thank You Debbie, and don't worry about Angie, I'll treat her the same way I do my own daughters, I joke around alot but when it comes to my girls I'm very protective. You have my word on that...

Thanks Kat! I know you will. She is really looking forward to meeting you. She could just bring you back home with her. I'll be at the beach until next Saturday but then I have 2 weeks before I go back to work. Hard telling what we would get in to in that time.

You too Kat! I really mean it. You are welcome anytime. Angie has an extra room and I have a sofa that makes a very comfortable bed or you could have my little girls futon. we would love to have you.
