View Full Version : I'm BAAAAAACK and missed you all!
I got back home just this afternoon. I'm stiff, sore, and beat from painting 9 hrs a day 2 days in a row. My old body is complaining badly. lol
My grand dd's are thrilled with their new bedrooms though, so it's well worth it.
We painted a living room, 2 bedrooms, a stairwell and hallway while I was gone. We also hung a border, cleaned the new house, and went shopping for light fixtures, paint, and so on for my daughters new house. They bought a bank repo at about half it's appraised value, so while it needed some work, I believe it is going to be a very nice home for them.
I missed you all and will try to get caught up as quickly as I can.

Are you feeling better?

I thought that you were just going to watch the kids while you were there!! And....REST!!!! You didn't mention that you were going to be painting!!! That's NOT taking it easy!!! If I'd have known what all you were doing I'd have been a lot more worried about you!!!! You gave me quite a scare the other day and I'm worried about you!!!! Now that you're home I want you to take it easy and not over-do!! (Sorry, but I can get bossy!!)

I know this isn't the right spot, but Diana I just love your avatar. You are really beautiful!
ROFL Diana, I am the official trim painter in the family. No one else seems to want to paint the stuff along the ceiling, moldings, windows, or staircases, so that's my job. So I sit on the floor or a stool and just putz along while they do the main part of the walls. I know better than to do the big repetitive arm motions as that stresses the heart, so this works well for all of us.
Have to laugh though... my daughter and her dh are both intelligent wonderful people, but neither has a clue when it comes to decorating, so I usually get the fun of picking colors and patterns and so on when they do a project. Now THAT I enjoy! They're just not creative types and neither seems to trust their own judgment to make decorating choices. My son-in-law had started painting the living room with some "mint green" paint their neighbor had given them... He had almost a whole wall done before he decided maybe it wasn't such a great color. So he called his DW in and she didn't like it either, so they called me downstairs to get my opinion and it was a bright LIME green that was just awful in that setting. So I got to go to the local Hardware store and find something more suitable and luckily they both really liked it. lol

I know that this is late in coming but I'm catching up!!
I'm glad to hear that you weren't given any work that would over-tax you. I know about doing the trim work! I won't let ANYONE do my trim because I am so particular. I don't want any paint on the woodwork and I don't trust anyone else to do it!!!
Sorry, for being so bossy! I just care about you!!
