Yesterday was "D" day here, the tention was so thick you could cut it with a knife!!
My son is in hes final year, and yesterday they got to hear whether they passed or not.
If they didnt pass, they get a phone call between 3 and 4pm.
It was the longest day of hes life, our nerves were shot, so 3pm comes, i was ready for a drink LOL
Tried to show him, i'm as cool as a cucumber hahaha meantime, i was about to climb the walls.
He sat talking to friends on msn, at 5 passed 3 a friend told him they had called her, so she didnt pass
After hearing that, he turned all colors!!
4 o'clock came, no phone call, so i start screaming like a nut YOU MADE IT - YOU DID IT ... and run for the champagne.
All friends phone each other to congratulate, and were checking on the schoolboard via internet to see if their names were REALLY on the list LOL

The graduation ceramony is on the 27th, he is so excited!!
He got hes rapport this am, all i can say is.... he did VERY VERY well, hes weakest over the years has always been maths, it was always a battle to get him to sit down, and study for it, but passed hes finals with 8.1 for maths, the best of the class!! He was speechless LOL

Tell your son "Congratulations" from me!!! I've never heard of getting a phone call to hear if you've not passed. That would be nerve wracking!!! Our kids always know where their at with their grades because they have internet access to what their grades. I can see how my daughter's grades are doing as well.

Thanks girls, i will let him read this thread himself :)

Janet, yes he is done with school now, so it's to college for him

The waiting yesterday was torture! All these poor kids were on edge.
After 4 o'clock they started phoning each other, and going to friends houses to congratulate each other.
Als at 4 o'clock they put up the names of the pupils that passed on the school's internet site, so they could double check.

Thanks Judy, yes we are very proud of him.

Do you guys have a tradition over there for passing the final year?

Over here they hang a flag out, with the schoolcase on it.
Will take pics to show tomorrow morning.

Mandy !! Tell your son congratulations!!! I am so happy that he passed, and why wouldn't he .. He is a smart boy I am sure. That is very nerve racking to wait for a phone call to see if you failed.. whew!!! I would have been sweating bullets myself..

As far as the tradition , other than graduation we don't have any. By me anyway, I don't know about the other ladies. Post some photos that is very nice to do so with the school flag..

Once again.. Congratulations!! Tell him now to enjoy his summer vacation , college will be right around the corner... :)
