I seem to have misplaced my brain. I'm doing laundry and I just heard the washing machine stop. So, I go in, open the door and it's empty! Yup, I ran the entire cycle without remembering to put the clothes in there! Getting old sucks! lol

Sorry Teri, don't mean to laugh honestly, but that is hilarious. Look at it this way...you were just cleaning out your washer. Great idea!!!:D

It sounds like Teri needs to go and visit Janet for a few days while her guys are gone! Wish that I could come but after going to Chicago I'm kinda' tripped out for a while. It was a shame that we had to get on home or Dae Lynn and I would have stopped by. (Sigh)

Teri, my mother-in-law used to do that quite often!!! She used to be a very intelligent woman, still is somewhat, but she sure had her goof-ups!! Alot of them involved the stove or the car!!!!

Janet, don't feel bad for laughing, I did too! The worst part was, when I opened the door and saw it was empty my first thought was not "oh I forgot to put the clothes in there" it was "OMG where did they go???"

Diana, I used to be a very intelligent woman too! Between the side effects of some of my medicines and the lack of mental stimulation from not working....I am turning into a turnip brain!

.......I am turning into a turnip brain!

I think that all of us that are at that time of life when EVERYTHING changes can say that too. Don't beat yourself up! We'll keep your brain stimulated!!!! LOL!!!! (That will be like the blind leading the blind!!!!)

I taught an adult Sunday School class and went to say something to a very good friend of mine that I've know for years and years.........I couldn't remember her name! Talk about being a turnip brain!!!

Looks like our brains have gone on vacation together - I just ironed my husband's shirt without plugging in the iron (it took me about 5 minutes to figure out why it wasn't getting hot)

Oh Don't feel bad! I made 3 trips to town one day before I remembered to get the thing I really went for! As my DH says, we just need more RAM... Too much stuff stored in our brains to be able to retrieve it like we used to.

To bad we can't defragment and clear out the clutter in the brain sometimes!

Teri, I think your brain is hiding out in the same place that mine is. Luckily, I'm so far gone that I quickly forget what it is I just forgot! This allows me to walk around feeling like I'm just fine.

OMG I do that do, I was told in a memorization class to go over the alpabet and believe me it works.. Try it when you forget someones name...

Teri don't sweat it we all do things absent mindely.. I once put on the clothes dryer and ran it for a min until I remembered I didn't put the laundry in.. DUH!!! I think we do to much today and try to multi task and are not really paying attention to our surroundings...lol

Teri, you and Dobie should talk to my hubby. He makes jokes like that ALL the time! LOL

I love this thread!! Teri, thank you so much for being so honest. Maybe I'm okay after all. I've done the washing machine thing, too. I'm also bad about setting it all up and forgetting to turn it on. I go in to put the clothes in the dryer and they are still dry. I do the same thing with the dishwasher. Go to put the clean dishes away, and I never started the machine. I forget peoples names when introducing them.

We do have too much information in our lives today. Too many numbers to remember, just overall information overload. It's no wonder we short circuit once in a while.

Well - I knew a couple of years ago that things were only going to go downhill for me.
On my 40th birthday, my 5 nieces baked me birthday cupcakes. When I blew out the candles, the 5 year old asked me how old I was. When I told her that I was 40, she made this horrified face and said "Auntie, your almost dead!"

So it's no wonder that any of us over 40 has memory problems, according to my niece we are absolutely ancient.

Oh Dobie...your niece must be a hoot!!! How funny for her to say that....kids!

I know once I turned 40, I tried to do a cartwheel in the front yard for my son. My mom was going to do one too, until we both heard the muscle in my leg make a strange noise and then I was in so much pain. Ended up in the ER and came home with the best pain meds I ever had....LOL. No one told me not to do cartwheels after 40...duh!

i had to do this about 5 times since Micah was born, i hurry up and run downstairs and throw a load of clothes in the washer then run back upstairs to the baby, and do a bunch of stuff, then i always forget that there is clothes in the washer and throw another load on top of the one that's in there... until i hear my washer banging around downstairs cause it's overloaded... so if you find your brian, have it tell you where mine is at too please !!!!!

I found ALL of your brains and they're in great shape!!! Only thing is, is that they're here in Kansas with me and they've been having a great time. A little rough around the edges from all the, ummmm......., fun but still in one piece! If you want them back you'll have to come and get them because they're in no shape to travel back to you! I'll take care of them until you get here to pick them up. Oh, and they said to tell you "Hello" and that they miss you and to please hurry!!!

How is my brain Diana? Tell it please to take care, and that I have appreciated it and am grateful for all that it got me through, but I no longer need it. I really don't want to start all that thinking and problem solving and planning again. It's way too much trouble.
