Well it's the first official weekend of summer! How are you spending it?
It's GORGEOUS here. Last night Kyle and I went out for supper, did some shopping, and then watched movies. I got up early and he brought his dog KC over from his mom's house, and we took KC and Layla to the dog park. They had a great time running around and playing! It was really hot out though, and after 3 laps around the park we were both out of water for the dogs so we took them home. Then we took a trip to the farmer's market to see what it's like (I hadn't been there since my grandma took me when I was about 8 years old!) I bought fresh potatoes, cucumbers, pineapple carrot muffins, strawberry rhubarb rolls, and some spices! We drank a nice cold beer in Kyle's backyard, and now I'm ready for him to pick me up on his way to the lake. He's taking some stuff out there for his grandpa, and then we're going to spend the rest of the afternoon out on the boat.
Tomorrow is supposed to be even HOTTER! But so far I have no plans :) I might just hang out in the yard with a book!

We are off to the carnival shortly :D
First time on rides together, how pitiful is that after nearly 10 years together! Might I add that we helped out one of his uncles at a carnival a few years ago mind you... nice quick cash but didn't get to enjoy the ride and such.
I am beyond excited lol Taking the camera, of course.

Obviously more swimming, food on the grill, pool, cards, drinking roulette wheel game, nights by the fire pit :)

Great pictures! Our carnival is only here for a week, and I think it's in August. I've only missed one year in the past 13 years! I'm taking my camera to the lake today too, maybe I'll have some pictures to post later!

lol I will upload some pictures later, I took a lot! I jumped out of the boat to swim and they wouldn't let me back in until I tried wakeboarding! They actually were pushing my hands off the side of the boat. So I made my first attempt at wakeboarding today and I failed miserably! I couldn't get myself up out of the water but at least I tried. My whole body aches so bad right now though so I don't think tomorrow will be a busy day at all!

Okay, I am getting too old for this crap lol I went on a few rides with my 14 year old soon to be sister in law...
That was us going by in the bottom right.

The guy who ran that ride TORTURED us. He had left people off and on in the mean time... we went forwards, and backwards. Spinning and spinning. When he opened our cage, he said "Have you had enough" all creepy. Yikes.
Why the hell am I smiling? (that would be Mr. Creepo in the background)

I like this picture of us too. We didn't feel very well after eating this weirdly seasoned chicken earlier, I just had a bigger set than he did. He didn't come on any rides tonight BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Didn't stop me from asking though hehehee

Oh my gosh I hate all those rides in your pictures! hehe I'm sort of a big chicken when it comes to rides though :) I think I'm getting too old too!

Okay so here are some pictures...
1. Kyle getting some air time. He's pretty good but he's been wakeboarding for a long time!
2. Kyle messed up his hair and posed with his best boy band look :D
3. I was thirsty in the water, so Kyle thought he should just pour it into my mouth.
4. Me and the wakeboard... we ended up not getting along so well
I wish I would have got some more pictures of our friend who is pretty amazing at wakeboarding, but it turns out I took mostly video of him and I'm far too lazy to upload videos tonight!

Pope.......I was never big ride person, but it looks like you had a great time. Really love the pictures..you and your fiance look nice together.

Lindsey..I do (or did) know how to waterski and it looks very similiar. When we would try to teach someone to ski, they couldn't get up either. They thought the boat pulled them up...it doesn't. Once you start on top of the water....just stand up.

That one thing that looked like a steel caged death trap (they kept callig it "the zipper", my SIL went on like 6 more times after we took off

lol water skiing is something I never had the chance to experience yet, great tip Janet ;)
& ty for the compliment. We've always been like an old married couple, not like most people our ages. Except for the fact that we are a tad bit nuts :p

I am off to go schwimmin and down a few brews this afternoon

Here are a few Irish toasts I recently learned (I'll leave out the more explicit ones lol):
"Here's to a long life and a merry one,
A quick death and an easy one,
A pretty girl and a true one,
A cold bottle and another one."

"Here's to you and here's to me,
Friends may we always be!
But, if by chance we disagree,
Up yours! Here's to me!"

What they told me to do was lean back and keep the edge of the board out of the water, until there was enough speed for me to stand up. Easier said than done! The board is huge so there's a lot of resistance against the water. I started out with my arms by my sides and would end up with my hands rubbing against the board at my feet. My arms aren't strong enough to pull against that much weight! I just got up and my whole body is aching today! Oh well, I'm sure I will try it again sometime. Kyle told me it's just like snowboarding, but on water. Well, right now I'd rather be snowboarding :) At least there you just have to stand up and you're flying down a hill!

Pope, it looks like you really enjoyed the rides. My daughters love the Zipper and they will make them spin and spin. Don't ever ride with one of them!!!! I've never really liked the rides, even the farris wheel. My stomach just can't handle them.

Lindsey, it looks like you had a great time at the lake! My family likes to ski and I did too when I was younger. My kids all ski. My son even skied barefoot one time!!! I was impressed! The other day it flooded and my son had his jet ski out and the family was skiing behind it in the field next to his house!!! That's a sight to see!

 Went to the movies to watch "Get Smart" tonight, Dug it. It's nice to do every once in a while.
I don't know how parents of tweens+ can afford to treat their kids very often these days! I feel for them.

Was the movie REALLY worth seeing? My son would like to go see it, but the reviews I've heard say it's very disappointing. Give a review now and what you really thought of it.

What Janet said... I love Steve Carrell and everything he does, but I'm worried that it's one of those movies where the previews show all the good parts!

I really liked it. Not even Lindsey, if anything the trailers did it no justice what so ever....
I had my doubts because of some of the trailers they had shown for it, but I had faith cause I am a huge Steve Carell fan.
Where can you go wrong with Alan Arkin? (I recommend Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn, The Slums Of Beverly Hills, Catch 22, Little Miss Sunshine) I've always found Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) to have been entertaining when he opens his mouth lol That was YEARS ago, when I would actually turn wrestling on once in a while...

Well, I have never seen the original series but we treated my dad to a night at the movies cause he's been strapped for cash lately. He has, and he really enjoyed the movie too.
Not only were there some parts of it that had me chuckling so hard, they brought me to tears...it was also action packed with all the pretty eye candy explosions and fight scenes. Which normally isn't my thing *shrug*
I'm a comedy girl if not comedy, usually a good intense drama/thriller.

Alan Arkin plays the chief. Dwayne Johnson and Anne Hathaway are spy agents for CONTROL. Steve Carell is an analyst who deciphers chatter, he of course aspires to be an agent. He takes the test yearly but fails one way or another. (IE. He used to be over weight, I got a couple kicks out of the jokes they used towards that twist)
No one really thinks he is ready or capable.

When CONTROLS agents start getting assassinated, it's a mystery as to who is the double agent that's tipping off the villains. Hence, Steve Carell finally being promoted to an agent because he is unrecognizable.

The people they work with are hilarious. I don't know if I like the two "nerds" or the two "jerky agents" better. There is sort of a rivalry thing going on with the two groups at work.

Even the group of villains known as "Chaos" are likable. Borat's agent is one of them, and another one is a huge Indian wrestler, The Great Khali. They get thrown a couple good lines/scenes as well.
In my opinion and from what i could hear people saying as we were leaving, it is worth seeing on the big screen.
