We moved into a brand new office and it's almost like getting a brand new job! This place is so gorgeous and professioinal looking, a few of us decided we should also step up our work attire. It's not mandatory or anything but we just thought we should present ourselves better. So we're dressing up for the week and having casual Fridays (although most of the office is still doing jeans and tshirts every day)
Anyways, I didn't feel like ironing my pants this morning so I decided I'd wear this really cute light flowy skirt with a white lace tank top and nice white heels. As soon as I got out of my car this morning I found out my skirt is a little TOO light and flowy. It almost flowed up over my hips! But luckily I got inside without flashing anyone! I went for lunch at Kyle's house and had another couple of near-misses.
When I got back after lunch I noticed one of the guys who is still working on the building, getting stuff from the back of his truck right behind where I parked my car. I sat inside for a minute waiting for him to leave but he wasn't going anywhere. So I got out, clutched my skirt on both sides, and awkwardly tried closing my door. When he saw me he smiled and said "Did you have a good weekend?" I didn't want to make small talk. I wanted to get inside! I said "Yep!" and kept walking. He said "Do anything exciting?" and I really didn't want to be rude, but I could already feel the wind lifting up the back of the skirt! I said "No not really!" and I got inside as fast as I could and trying to look as least awkward as possible!
So I guess I've learned my lesson. I got a lot of compliments on my skirt, but I'll never wear it to work again! Next time I'll pick something a little heavier lol

Awww, Lindsey, sorry you had this experience. One suggestion may be to wear shorts under this skirt. You won't feel so exposed, and they guys won't get the peak they expected.

That's a good idea..., of course, wearing a little heavier skirt will work too.

That's a good idea Marilyn, if I get up the courage to wear that skirt in public again I'll be sure to invest in some shorts for underneath!
Haley, I keep my steel toed boots under my desk just in case I need to do a site visit or the lab is desperate for help... of course it doesn't help when I'm wearing a skirt  Maybe I should take an emergency pair of jeans to work too!
Oh by the way, I had another near miss on my way out to my car again lol... I got to the front doors at the same time as Ryan, one of the lab guys. I was hoping he wouldn't walk outside with me. He asked if I knew how to work the new alarm and I said no, and he said "Well I have to be here at 7 tomorrow morning and nobody is around to tell me how to turn the alarm off!" and he stomped off to find someone. Thank goodness! Because when I got to my car the wind had picked up and I was clutching my skirt on both sides and had to let go with one hand to open the door.
Anyways, I need to go iron my pants now :D

I love dresses in the summer. They're so comfortable, cool and easy, and they don't fly up in a breeze.

The joys of being a woman!!!!! I think that Marilyn has a really good idea......just add shorts under your skirt. Voila'......Let those men get an eyefull of that!!
