Monday I'm going to make an appointment for Ricky to get a complete physical. That way he'll have one before school starts and won't have to miss any school.

Today he complained about being lightheaded and dizzy. It's not the first time he's complained about it, but it also hasn't been often. I just think we need to have him completely checked out, blood work and all, just to be on the safe side. The boy is so skinny, but eats everytime ya turn around.

I just hope we can get him in soon....like this week or next at least.

I know what you mean about the skinny part Janet. Bobby is 6'4" and ways about 130.

Is he just growing right now? Well I sure hope he checks out fine. You'll be at peace of mind when you get the thumbs up from the doc.

He gets a physical for sports, but those physicals really are not in depth. So I'll get him one scheduled and make sure this boy of mine is healthy!

He thought it was just the heat, but he wasn't in the heat but for a few minutes. AND he has had this happen before and it wasn't hot, so I just think he needs checked out thoroughly.

Maybe it's sinuses...that can cause the dizziness and lightheadedness. Skinny is not a problem for my son! He is 6 'and weighs 230 pounds! He is just a big ole boy! And eat? I've never seen anyone consume food like he does. He eats 2 sandwiches while he's waiting for dinner! Then he scarfs down dinner. Two hours later he's hungry again! He was always a skinny little boy, but since about 8th grade he has just been a bull!

Here is my "baby boy" Kevin,,he is 17 ( he never smiles for pics, I tell him he looks like a thug!)

When you take Ricky to the doctor make sure that you bring up that he's dizzy. Does he drink enough water? I know that Jaci has trouble with headaches and getting dizzy if she's not been drinking enough. They just get so busy with other things that they don't think about drinking water and it's almost impossible while they're in school to get enough.

Thanks for the reminder too.....I've got to get Jaci's physical scheduled too and a tetnus update too. I'm not ready for school to start! I haven't hardly seen her this summer, between work and Nate she's been busy!!!

Teri, you have a nice looking son! I don't think that they can ever get filled! I bet that you have a hard time keeping groceries in the house! I can remember how it was when my son was at home!!!!

Thank you Diana. We joke that when he goes away to college next year it will be cheaper to pay for college than it is to feed him!

Janet I agree with Diana I get light headed because I don't drink enough water. You are suppose to be very well hydrated especially in the summer.. Good luck to Rick, I am sure its nothing.

Teri cute son!

Janet, you are such a good mom to look after him like you do!!!! Hope all turns out fine, at least you will feel better knowing he is just growing and getting to dizzying heights. ;)

Teri, I can't imagine feeding a big boy like that. I have friends who have told me their stories about vanishing groceries when their sons were at home. He's nice looking, and I'm sure the girls will be after him at college.

Teri, you have a very nice looking son. My son is 6'1" and weighs around a 130 lbs so he's a skinny one for sure. I wish I good eat like he does and stay skinny, but he's on the go alot. I figure when he slows down...the weigh will come on....lol

Janet,

I know you'll be worried until Ricky gets a clean bill of health, so, of course, I'll be praying for a clean bill of health and to stave off that nervous breakdown you're
working on until you hear he's okay.

It probably is food related, or dehydration. I think some kids grow so fast, their bodies can't keep up with them!

Love ya,

Judy

How was his physical Janet? Hope everything turned out good? I get light headed sometimes, cause i dont' eat right and in the summer my lab at work gets as high as 120 degrees in there, so the heat has alot to do with it too.. i just grab some water or an oj and get back to work.

Thanks for asking Haley, I called on Monday and wouldn't ya know it...they are out until the 21st. Guess they need a vacation too. It's no emergency, so I'll make him an appointment on Monday.

sounds like he might have a super high metabolism. I had that when I was in high school. I ate constantly. IF i didn't eat at least 5-6 times a day I would get light headed & dizzy. I still eat in similar ways just not as much at a time. I would definitely get blood work done as well; he could be anemic or have trouble regulating his blood sugar, both of which aren't a big deal to fix.

I will definitely have to do a complete work-up on him. I'm sorry I forgot to answer your question Diana, but yes, he does drink plenty of water and Gatorade. plus he eats about every two hours...bottomless pit is what I call him....LOL

This is how I am too. I keep my purse stuffed with granola bars! I'm also known as the "nacho girl" at this lounge I used to go to because I could eat a whole plate of nachos by myself. Kyle's friend calls me "the skinniest overweight person" he knows lol... I can eat and eat and eat and I'm a size 3. I'm just hoping I stay this way :)
I hope everything goes well for Ricky!
