Katie's been having contractions for the past 2 hrs that are 5 mins apart but only last 45 seconds. I'm hoping this is the start for her... Josh of course wants to head for the hospital NOW. lol
I've got her walking and drinking lots of water, and don't dare tell her that as uncomfortable as she is, she could still stop and wait several days since she's stil able to walk and talk normally through her contractions.

Josh finally insisted they head for the hospital. * wont be surprised if they get sent back home, but he's so stressed and is supposed to leave in the morning for work again for the week nearly 2 hrs away, so I think he's hoping to WILL this baby to be born tonight. lol

I hope he's right... and her contractions hadn't slowed down any, but having had 3 of my own, I'm not convinced she's quite ready for the hospital yet.

The baby has dropped and for someone who's only gained 13 lbs, she's got quite a package there! I took this pic earlier today when I had her out walking with me.

Katie and Josh opted to come back home for a few hours, so are on their way. She's 100% effaced, dilated to 3 and still having contractions, but not terribly hard ones yet. The hospital gave her the option of staying or leaving. They told her it will be a long wait if she stays; but that she will most likely be back there in the morning.

Oh cool!!! I'm so glad that I checked in to see what was going on!!! I'll send up a prayer for Katie and the baby!! I'll have to check back in in the morning!!!!

Oh my... things are progressing and the hormones are kicking in!
Katie was here a bit ago and she's having considerably harder contractions now. She was obviously in pain, so Josh and I both turned to look at her and nearly got our heads bit off for it! LOL The hospital has 4 midwives, and you end up with which ever one happens to be on call when you go in. Of course since Katie likes 3 of them, it's the 4th one (who she doesn't like) that's on call tonight and tomorrow. Ironically she is the one who delivered Katie 20 yrs ago and Greg chewed her out back then. lol

They use midwives at the hospital!!??? I've never heard of that. Here I think only doctors deliver at the hospitals, and midwives deliver for home deliveries.

Sorry she does not like the one on call. It's kinda cool though that the one who delivered her will be delivering her child.

My niece had both of her kids with a midwife in the hospital. She loved it! I hope all is going well, maybe even over for her now! Can't wait to hear the details!

Here only midwives deliver and doctors step in if there is a major problem.

This is my 3rd grandDAUGHTER. lol

Summer Rose was born at 11:46 am today. She's 19" tall and 7 lbs 11 oz. She has us all totally infatuated already. I got to attend her birth which was pretty amazing. Both mom and baby are doing great.

Summer Rose is absolutely adorable!! What a beautiful baby!!!! I really like her name too. I'm glad that everything went well and that mother and baby are doing fine! Emms, she doesn't have as much hair as either of the other girls, but it's very soft and pretty. Paige's hair stood up all over her head like one of the little troll dolls regardless what you tried to do with it, and Aubri's was so thick you had to part it to find her scalp! Remember how Aubri's pics looked like she was wearing a helmet? lol

I guess we just have a hairy baby gene somewhere in the family. lol Berry had hair similar to Summers when she was born, but Joel was a Charlie brown baby (Big bald head) and Katie only had blonde peach fuzz. lol

I've already spoken with Josh and Katie this morning. They said they had a tough time sleeping last night so are still pretty exhausted. Summer however slept 4 hrs at a time, which is pretty average for a newborn.
