I am this depressed woman at 64 years old. Anyone else that could help me get past it? I have been on an anti-depressent for years but it is not working.

I'm sorry that you are going through this. Sometimes, especially if it's been years you may need to try a different medication. Also, meds work best when you also are going for therapy. If that is not an option, google "depression" and I'm sure you'll find an online support group. That is a very big help. Depression is a medical condition and it is something that can be controlled. I pray that you can find the right combination of meds and therapy so that you can get through this. {{{hugs}}}

Donna, I'm sorry you're feeling so depressed. Why not discuss this with your Dr? Let him know how you're feeling. Are you eating good and healthy? How about some exercise? I know it's hard to do that when you're feeling good let alone being depressed, but it can help.
Maybe your meds need adjusted like Teri suggested. First thing though, I'd talk with your Dr. and get a complete physical. I'll keep you in prayer girl that you'll start feeling better soon.

I find myself depressed at different times because of different things - my age, my weight, my job, etc. I've never taken medication and find my best antidepressant is my Bible.
Do you know what depresses you? Can you talk about it here?

Thanks, I will do a Google search to find a support group on line.
My Doctor only increased the Prozac from 20 mgs to 40mgs, didn't take long for me to lower the dosage, my thoughts started spinning so fast I couldn't keep up with them.
Also, after finding out about the mold in my home, that also causes fatigue and depression. This all started after I quit work and stay home most of the time. I mentioned that there were new meds for fibromyalgia, (which also causes depression", he had not heard of them and said it was probably nothing more than an antidepressant.
There is nothing specific that causes it, just no interest in anything, no energy, can't conertrate, constant worry. Lot of my family members have it also.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, I seem to be better when I am on her or Yorkie Talk, takes my mind off of stuff.

I frequent both places, plus another one when I have time, so you're more than welcome to come and talk with us about what ever you're feeling.
