Got weekend plans?

I'm going shopping for some projects to do while down with my foot surgery. My oldest g-daughter gave me her cheer/gymnastics competition t-shirts to make a quilt, so I'm getting the fabric and batting for that. I'll stock up on crochet yarn and I catchup on my scrapbooking.

We pulled the shrubs from around the front porch. I need five new hanging baskets to re-work cracked ones. My neighbor said it looks nice and clean, but lonely! I miss my landscape lights.

Does anybody do tile mosaics?

Our weekend plans are pretty much staying at home. After being gone last weekend we're still trying to get back in the groove of home life. We are going to the lake on Sunday afternoon with some friends. We have a home Bible study on the first Sunday of each month and this time we're meeting at the lake. We'll probably take the boat and the sea doo so we'll have a good time on the water!

I'm going to try and paint the family room and who knows, maybe even the hallway. Well see.

I don't know anyone personally that does the tile mosaics, but I think if you do a search on YT, there is some one there that does a really beautiful job, I just can't remember the name.

I have to clean, do laundry, bathe dogs, work on paperwork. The usual stuff. I really would like to have a weekend to just go have some fun. Most of my time off this year was wedding and it was fun, but hectic & stressful. Hubby works all the time. The girls don't live here any more and I'm not one for doing much by myself. It's so hard to coordinate with friends and their schedules. They all work and have families of their own. Karen's coming for a couple of weeks, but won't be her until probably tomorrow afternoon.

Guess I'll go clean. (Yep, I'm feeling sorry for myself. Oh, well....)

Sandy, hope all goes very well with your projects and your foot surgery!!! And hope they keep up with your work while you are gone so you don't have a lot of catchup when you go back!!!!!

With all the excitement surrounding the baby and Greg being home tearing my bathroom and laundry room apart, I'm done in. I'm hoping to just take some time today to rest and regroup. I hate being such a wimp, but that's just how it is.

My house is in a shambles, but right now it's going to have to wait.

Josh's mother, sister, and a couple others are at Katie and Josh's today meeting the baby, so I'm steering clear. I've yet to be in the same town with Josh's mom and already we've had a major clash, so it's best to just let things settle down for the kids sake. It seems she and I are very different people, so probably not ever going to be "fast friends". It's likely not a bad thing that she lives a couple hours away. lol

I'm just hoping Greg gets his project done so I can get my house back in order this next week.

I had a fantastic day!
Went to a outside antique show. I got a old pharmacy beaker for a Christmas gift. For me one lone old soup spoon!
After market was over, went into the Antique Barn to finish off the day. Almost bought two beautiful mahogony end tables. Matched set that appear to have never been used. Going to think about those for a bit... big reason being tomorrow I am going to yet another outdoor antique show! Maybe I will find some I like more... never know.

Wow! Two full days of antiqueing!!! Wonderful weekend!

Well, I'm tired and a little sore, but all the laundry is done, some drawers got organized & a bunch of stuff tossed out, house is clean all except the master bath, and I'll do that tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and the office is a mess, but hubby was working in it almost all day, and didn't want to disturb him by cleaning around him. So will catch that when I can. I cleaned both upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms because our daughter, Karen, is coming to visit for a couple of weeks and not sure which rooms she will be using.

No excitement, but it's nice around here.

Just got home from another full day of antiqueing at local fairgrounds.

As always, I really enjoyed myself. This time picked up 2 signed original oil paintings. They are both 20' x 24', one in a beautiful matted frame.
I was looking at them wondering why they were so cheap. One was $3.00 framed, the other was $5.00, canvas only. So the dealer came over and offered them both to me for $5.00! Said it was obvious I liked them both. Of course I bought them both for that price! They really are nice paintings. Not sure what I am going to do with them, have no room in my house!

Also got a arrowhead for my nephew. Talked the dealer into selling me only one out of his boxed collection.
Then got a few Christmas gifts also. One was a pin of THE Ruby Red Slippers with wand... my sister is a huge Wizard of Oz fan.

Last year at this same show bought a plant. It didn't come up this year. I was so disappointed. Called a Lucifer Monbrieta. Unlike its name, it is a very pretty flowering perennial. My friend Lu amd I were looking at them today, speaking to ourselves about what we could have done wrong that neither of the plants we bought came back this year. The dealer asked us what we saying, she remembered selling us the plants last year. So we nicely explained neither plant had come back. She was super nice and she bagged up two plants and gave them to us! We were shocked, did not expect her to do that. Told her we don't expect her to give us two more.. she insisted and off we went, happy as two larks!

The day is ending as nice as it started... now I need to get outside and plant my new perennial!

Shada, it sounds like you had a wonderful time antiqueing! I so love to go! I met someone Saturday that likes to go so maybe we can get together and go to a few. She had some great ideas on where to go.

I'd love to see the paintings that you bought. Why don't you take a picture of them and post it? I have a problem with buying things to go on my walls too when I don't have room for them. I love old pictures and shelves.
