I'm off work today to do my surgery pre-op and hubby's coming home at noon, so we can batten the hatches for the storm. We need the rain, but not the wind. We're in the boonies of East Houston, so we'll probably lose power for a few days. Hope my cell phone works!
Keep safe Sandy!
My prayers will be with you!

Take care, Sandy. So far it's looking like a strong TS, so hopefully won't do too much damage. Hope all the farmers there have their crops in . They've been working till late at night (midnight or later) around here trying to get all the cotton picked. We're banking on it not turning south. No one around here is doing much to prepare for wind, just rain.
Sandy stay safe.. I will say a prayer that all is well..

Take care and stay safe. Thanks for letting us know that you might lose electricity and not be on. You know how we worry!

Sandy is going to get a pretty good hit. It's going a little more north than they thought yesterday, so the center will or is already going just north of her, but she will still get lots of wind and rain, and will probably lose power.
We may get some showers from this one, but since it's more toward Port Arthur rather than south of Galveston as they had been saying, we may not see anything. Our companies branches in that area are all closed today.

Getting lots of rain (needed) and not much wind (good thing). Actually, the center hasn't gotten here yet and it is beeline to come straight over us. We picked up everything in the yard last evening, so we're just hanging out. I brought a laptop from work, so I am able to do a few things, but my boss is out too. I'm on the south end of Lake Houston. I'm happy and amazed that we haven't lost power.

Well I'm hoping you won't lose power. Keep the battery on the lap top charged so at least you'll be able to let us know you're okay after it passses.

Thanks for checking in, Sandy. I'm glad that you're getting some rain. I just hope it doesn't come so fast that it doesn't soak in. Hopefully you won't lose electricity. Stay safe!
