View Full Version : 5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-raising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips(optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well Add the egg and mix
thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla essence, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The
cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (This can serve 2)
And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now
we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the
day or night!

I'll have to try this one but I think that I'll use Splenda instead of sugar and also some sugar-free chocolate chips. Then Glen can have some!!!! Thanks for the recipe, Tink! I'm printing it off!!!

Holy cow Tink....I am such a chocoholic and you can just tell by looking at me. I'm going to try it too (if I remember) but making it with the changes Diana has suggested. We'll see.
Did you try it yet Tink?

Okay, there's no baking powder for baking soda, so if you don't use self rising flour what makes it rise???? Think I'll go try it right now and see what happens.

I made the cake. The chocolate chips sank to the bottom. I used white chocolate chips, so the sinking was very obvious, and my microwave must be too high. I don't know what setting to use for 1000 watts. The cake was over cooked. The taste was okay, and it did rise even though it did not have baking powder.
Not sure if I'll try it again. Someone else, please make it and report. It really did take just 5 minutes to make!! And it wasn't bad considering....

My granddaughter spent the day with me yesterday because she was running a fever so we made this. I didn't add the chocolate chips but I did put in some black walnuts. I didn't make it with the diet ingredients since I wasn't making it for Glen. I thought that it was pretty good. Without the chocolate chips and having the walnuts it was more like a brownie. It was a little tough, especially on the top, but I'd make it again especially in the winter where something warm is always appreciated. I wasn't sure the temperature of my microwave either but it took the full 3 minutes I thought to get done. If I were making two batches I'd split the egg between the two instead of using an egg in each.
