No food or Coke after Midnight on Sunday.
Arrived at hospital at 12:30 on Monday.
They put 2 different IV's on me one in each hand with 4 different meds running into them.
Vitals taken and all was well at 2:00, taken to surgery waiting area at 2:20.
Talked to Anesthesiologist at 2:30,
Doctor came in at 2:45 and put some X's on my right side with a marker, while he was doing this they called a code blue in the ER and the nurse told him that one of his patients just came in with a brain annerysum and he was in the ER. He said he had to go and would be right back and not to worry.
(I told him no problem, go save the poor guys life, I was nice and comfy!
3 hours later he comes back and says time to go to surgery Kath.
Nurse comes in for one last check of my vitals, and looks at me and says,
"I have to talk to the Doctor!", next thing I know, the Dr comes in and looks at my chart and says,
"We have to cancel your surgery you have a temperature of 101*."
I am now in total shock.
I say "You can't do that, I have 5 different Prayer threads with alot of people praying for me!"
He looks at me and says, "Well evidently they worked because there is no way that I am operating on you today with that temperature!"
By now it's 6:00 at night, and my Daughters have been sitting in the Surgery waiting room for over 4 hours.
The Dr goes to tell them the great news that I'm going home, and I wait while the nurse takes out the IV's. After 15 minutes I decide to take a little walk to the waiting room and watch TV until my girls come with my clothes. I see the elevator open and there are my Dtrs, without my clothes!!
By Now I'm dying for a Coke and a Ciggy, and I say let's go.
So out the side door we go, and all I have on is my hospital gown, little footy socks, and a blanket wrapped around me like a Toga.
We get into the minivan, I put my clothes on and off to Red Lobster we went.
I'm now taking antibiotics and the saga of my surgery will continue.

Thank you for all your prayers my dear friends, because I truly believe they saved my life today.

What a story. So sorry that you have to start all over again, but you don't have a choice.
It is a bummer fasting for so long without your coke or cig," mine is coffee and a cig"
Good luck, we will just keep on praying.

I'd like to take this opportunity to Thank Marilyn for the Beautiful Flowers that I received from her yesterday. Marilyn they are just gorgeous and they're sitting in my sunroom right next to my puter. I truly appreciate your thoughtfullness,

Kat, you are so very welcome. A special person deserves very special treatment. No public thank you's are needed though. PM's are okay.

By the way, thank you to Janet, too, who let us know where and when Kat would be in the hospital!! Without her amazing help, acts of kindness would not be possible.
