Is this going to be your "first dance" song at your reception? If so, I always think of the first dance as a slow (or slower) one. Some of the songs definitely do not have a slow beat, and I'm not sure how they would sound and you would look as the first dance couple.

It is true that it should be a song that you enjoy-but you might think about the "mood' of the day and how you want to set the mood.

I agree with Gayle. I too think of the first dance as being slower and romantic but as Gayle said "It's your day!" Personally I would keep looking.

We wouldn't have a problem dancing to any of the songs I posted, and I posted them because those are the decisions at the moment. I am already having a hard enough time choosing from them!:eek:

I realize I am outnumbered here age wise, but these songs mean something to us. I plan on counting the votes.

I shouldn't be saying this but as it stands right now, our top three favorites to pick from are Violent Femmes, Sum 41 and Unwritten Law. Whichever of those gets the most votes, I suppose is the winner...
Sum 41 is so powerful, Unwritten Law is so sweet and Violent Femmes is so vulnerable and sweet. I love violins.

Before you even posted I liked the first one the best. I liked most of them, but again, not really my type of music. Now my son would love all of them. I really do like the very first one the best...the words are nice.

So - here' my input. I like the music in "The Rest of My Life" a lot. I love the words to "With Me." "Good Feeling just doesn't do anything for me. It's a little whiny, but if you love the violins.....

Out of those, I'd say With Me because I've always liked that song. I don't know if you're open to more suggestions, but my little cousin just got married, and they had Theory of a Deadman - All or Nothing as their wedding song, and I thought it was awesome. They're a really young couple and I just like the raw sound of the song. It's not really a super slow traditional song, but it was very THEM.

From the start, I guess you could say I had "the feeling" while listening to it, I could imagine us hanging on tight possibly cracking our goofy little inside jokes and grinning like fools, tearing up a bit!

He is not the type to do "homework" so learning a routine is definitely out! I got a huge kick out of a Dirty Dancing first dance myself a few months back because my younger sister and I used to watch that tape daily as kids while we "practiced" lmao

I posted the songs just as an example of what you could do, not as what songs I thought that you needed to use!!! You could take all of those songs and mix them into one! Just use your favorite parts!

The Dirty Dancing song I thought was just hilarious!!! They certainly did a good job of copying it!!! I hope that you find a song that works wonderfully for you!!!!

How about laying out all your wedding stuff and taking pictures. I remember the dress, and the hat, but I'm sure you've gotten more stuff together.

Okay, I will Judy. I sure have gathered more things...
Pretty much have everything for the centerpieces, give or take a few strings of fake pearls/feathers and the black, white and purple personalized poker chips.
I got 5 large martini glasses (one of which I already broke lol so I will be heading back to The Christmas Tree Shop soon!), the ivory floating candles, over sized diamond rings (I think they are meant to be napkin rings), vintage looking glass perfume bottles with the little stick that you can smear on your wrists. I will probably go to Bath and Body Works and put a scent in there for the ladies who take the centerpieces. All of those things will sit on top of a mirror.

I just won this beautiful high waisted ivory & white girdle/garter. I decided not to get the veil hat, and instead got a white silk gardenia flower that I will wear tucked behind my ear for the reception. I will get everything together and take pictures later.
I have to anyway as sort of a photo journal of the wedding planning process :)

The invitation kit and place cards also came. I got them for like 7 dollars on eBay. I just have to go to www.wiltonprint.com and print them out myself, rather than paying someone else to do that for us.
It comes with 50 invitations & envelopes, 50 response cards and envelopes, 3 test sheets and these little ribbons embellishments.

It is getting so close! Thank you for asking, and staying interested. It means a lot :hug:
