So tell me ladies, How may of you are staying home this year for halloween?
I am. My husbands sister and brother in law are coming up to spend the night tonight. My daughter is going to church to pass out candy this evening.
We live out in the country and we never have Treaters come to our door.
So I'm expecting it to be a quiet night I hope.

So which sister? Hope it's not our favorite one....LOLOL

We always stay home now that Ricky is too old for trick or treating. No one ever comes here either. I like it that way myself, just gets the dogs all stirred up.

I'm giving out candy (Reese's and kitkats) - this is the first year I'm doing Halloween here, so I'm not sure how many kids will come. I bought 3 bags of candy, if I go through those, I'll just turn off the light.

We're going to be home but my daughter, Amy, is having a party in the ravine behind the house. We're going to have a bon-fire and cook hot dogs and I'm sure that she'll have some games to play. I don't usually have trick-or-treaters either since we too live in the country but I have some goodie bags that I need to make up for my grandchildren.

That sounds like a great time Diana. Wow Roasted Hotdogs over a fire.
That may have to happen here before long. How's the weather? It's almost 70 here today.

Watch the hotdog buns...lol. There was a story on the morning news about a man opening a bag of hotdog buns and there was a dead mouse mixed in with the buns. It had been cooked right to the side of the bun.

I had just bought buns too and now I will have to put them in the freezer for awhile. Everytime I look at them I about get sick.

I got those too -they were on on sale in Rite Aid.

I spent Halloween trick or treating with my grandchildren. They live in town, so there's lots of trick or treating. Almost every house was giving out candy, or at least, had a bowl on their porch. All the kids in the area went together with the parents, so we were quite a crowd. We ended up at the firehouse. They had a hayride on the fire engine, sirens. lights and all. Then, a costume parade and a costume by grade. Mackenzie and Brandon won for their grades. Then, Mackenzie gave her prize ($1.00) to Kassidy because she felt bad for her because she didn't win.

You have no idea how thrilled I was. Here I am, a native New Yorker, in the middle of this wonderful small town America Halloween. I just love the values up here. In NYC, Halloween is mostly a mean spirited holiday. The older kids run the streets egging, shaving creaming, and fighting. There is a great deal of vandalism. The dark side of some people's values really come out.

I love that my grandchildren are growing up here.

I went out to a party with a guy I work with. I was a can-can girl :) I'll post a pic later. My friend Dan also showed up because he wasn't doing anything so I made him meet me there lol. My roommate stayed home to hand out candy until 9, and then she was going to a movie. We had two boxes of candy... and we got 5 trick-or-treaters :D So more candy for us now!!!

That's what we started thinking Haley, right before I got married. When I was young, we only went to people's homes we knew. The only ones who came to our house were people we knew and we would always have fun guessing who each one was. Then we would see the parent around the corner of the house and then we knew....LOL...so much fun.

Right before we got married there were kids we had no idea who they were or where they came from. After I got married, Mom started have over 100 kids and some were so big it was scaring her. She no longer stays home on Halloween.

I hope Micah had a great time.
