It didn't even start yet! Maybe you need to cover the windows with pictures of a spring garden.

We had our first COLD night last night - it was 37 here this morning! My daughter had to cover her tomato plants - she's got some green tomatoes and didn't want them to freeze before they ripen.

I have pansies and snap dragons and I covered them too because they are so pretty and I didn't want them to get nipped.

It got up to 72 today and the sun was out so it felt really warm. It won't be as cold tonight so the tomatoes and flowers should be fine. Some winters it hardly ever gets below freezing!

There were some snow flakes when we were in Branson on Saturday. It was so cold there!!! Then when we were in Wichita on Sunday it was so nice that we didn't even need a coat!

I think it's stopped now, but it was snowing pretty good this morning. I would imagine we got maybe 1/2 an inch. We are just barely in lake effect snow, so I'm sure some places got it worse than us. It's just at freezing so it probably won't stick for long, but it was pretty. I only like snow leading up to christmas. Then after christmas it can go away. I remember when I was little we were always snowed in during christmas. I loved it.

Snow here too. It was a tricky drive to work this morning. I didn't have any weight in the back end of my van so I was fish tailing alot. Plus my gas tank was almost empty. So i filled it up on my lunch hour. Hubby is going to put sand bags in the back tonight. It's really snowing hard right now. Had 3 wrecks on the interstate this morning 2 people died. People just forget how to drive when it first snows.

34 in Florida?? Oh my - what happened to global warming?

I woke up to a lovely light snow. It has been doing that all day. I'm getting used to it. I've been looking around for new shoes though. I can't wear my heels. They sink into the mud, or the snow. Yuck!

I was in town yesterday and was talking to some natives. Sometime in mid-winter, they said the grey skies will get to me. One woman said I should get a SAD light.

Hope you don't get SAD light. I did when I lived in MN. Sometime saw no sun for 2 weeks.

What is a "SAD light?" Is it suppose to help with depression or something? I have seasonal depression so I think I'm going to have to google this. Maybe it's something that will help me during the winter. I'm just not ready to take a pill yet.

SAD stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder. The make special lights that give off multi-colored light like the sun. You have to get one with so many lumens to make it work. They are pretty expensive. They make ones that can make the sun rise earlier. Like you set it like an alarm so you are waking up in light instead of icky winter dark.

This is an article I googled about Seasonal A(?) Disorder and light therapy.
It sounds good, but I don't know about spending 1/2 hour every day.

Of course, eBay has them at all kinds of prices.

Here in Ohio we have about 2 inches of snow on the ground. It's COLD!!! I can't ever seen to get warm.

I really hate how long the winters are here. I'm ready for spring again!

It got down to 31 here this morning and my heating system didn't work. First time I tried it since it was put in this summer. The temp in the house was 66 but a damp cold.
Suppose to be down there again tonight. They have been working on it for 2 hours.

It's 41 here this morning, and supposed to get up to 80 today. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful. Calm. The bay was so pretty. The water had very few ripples on it. Looked almost like glass. Definitely a day to get out of the office. A customer and I needed to visit about a valve, and we joked about me running to Walmart and grabbing a couple of lawn chairs and us meeting on the beach. We did our talking on the phone however. It was a nice thought for a few minutes there. Did get out and ride across the causeway bridge and take some customers out to lunch, so got to be out for a bit and enjoy the day. It felt more like one of those awesome warm spring days instead of fall.

Janet, wish you could be here to enjoy this with us!!!!!

It is still getting dark too early though. Oh where is daylight savings time????

It is going to get into the teens tonight and tomorrow night....brrrr!!! I need to move!!!!

Judy...that article was very interesting. Now I kind of know why I am drawn during the day to sit staring out our big picture window. I can feel the sun (when it's shining) on my face and it lifts my spirits. I just never really associated it with light therapy.

I really loved Texas when I was there many years ago. I would like the winters....but not the summers...then it's too hot....LOLOL.

Burr it's 28 here right now and it's starting to snow. We are suppose to get 1 to 2 inches of the white stuff tonight and tomorrow. I love it when I can stay home and watch it from my living room window but to be out and driving in it really bites.

We're having a cold spell for the next few days. It snowed lightly all day. It was beautiful! It didn't stick.

I got studded tires for the snow. I never used them before.

Well, we are in the deep freeze (for us) in Texas. Didn't get out of the 30's yesterday and won't today either. The wind was fierce yesterday and it was soooo cold!!! Today is just as cold, but no wind so it is tolerable.

Of course it is supposed to be 70 by Sat/Sun!

Our temps were only in the teens yesterday and today looks like the same. We had a light layer of snow last night but it wasn't enough to make things look pretty. Temps in the 70's would be wonderful!!!

Marilyn

Okay, Janet, enough is enough!!!!! Please stop sending your cold weather down here to us!!!!! You can just keep it!! I know you are just trying to be generous, but it was 32 this morning when I left the house. I'm at my office today on the bay, and the damp cold is sooooo penetrating here. My feet are cold under my desk.

You can just keep this weather!!!!

By the way, if I remember from "An Inconvenient Truth", unseasonably cold weather is actually a side affect of the global warming theory. I know it sounds nuts, but if you check the information presented in the documentary, I'm pretty sure they explained why this is the case.

It's snowing to beat the band here. And it's coming from the west. So you girls that live in that direction. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!! They say we are suppose to get 3 to 5 inches and blowing wind. Tomorrow is our Christmas dinner at work. I'm sure I will make it to work. I've lived here almost 7 years and they have never closed.
Even when we had 10 inches on the ground. :p

We had sleet and ice last night. Ricky was at work and I was so worried about him making it home safely. He said it was all ice all the way....8 miles. We knew it had to be bad because all the windows on the house iced over.

This morning we have a two hour delay again. Where Rick attends college of a morning still holds classes and the mini bus that takes him still goes. So...he just called and made it safely to town. Now, I'll worry about the mimi bus making it to Lafayette alright and then Ricky making it back to high school. I sure hope they get these roads salted althought I don't know if it will warm up enough to melt. Have I told anyone lately that I just can't not stand winter???

Are you guys closing down to have your party? There was a notice in the paper that the courthouse here is going to close for two hours to hold a Christmas party during the middle of the day. I don't want to sound like an old Scrooge, but shouldn't holiday parties be of an evening or weekend and not inconvenience the tax payer? It's going to be held during the noon hour when people want to do their business.

I don't need to go there, but when I read it, I just had this feeling come over me that it wasn't right.

the public LOL. If we get the snow they are predicting for tomorrow they will still be open then too.
