The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in
sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers,
he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a
child's whisper.

' Hello ? '

'Is your daddy home?' he asked.

' Yes ,' whispered the small voice.

May I talk with him?'

The child whispered, ' No .'

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, 'Is your Mommy there?'
' Yes .'

'May I talk with her?' Again the small voice whispered, ' No .'

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss
asked, 'Is anybody else there?'

' Yes ,' whispered the child, 'a policeman '.

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked,
'May I speak with the policeman?'

' No, he's busy ', whispered the child.

'Busy doing what?'

' Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman ,' came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through
the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, 'What is that noise?'

' A helicopter ' answered the whispering voice.

'What is going on there?' demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again, whispering, the child answered, ' The search team just landed a helicopter .'

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss
asked, 'What are they searching for?'

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle...

' ME . '

How cute! My daughter had a friend in middle school who hid under her bed, the whole time her family was searching, making calls, and preparing to get the police involved. Luckily, somebody saw a pair of pink sneakers sticking out from under the bed.

Years ago when my own kids were little I was shopping and a mother was frantically looking for her daughter in the store. She went through all of the clothes racks pushing the clothes to the side, looking for her little feet. Her daughter finally appeared and the mother asked her where she was at. The little girl had been hanging upside down in the center of one of the clothes racks and asked her mom "I hid good. Didn't I, Mommy?"

Oh Diana...she may have hit good, but if she were mine...she wouldn't have been able to sit too good once I got her home.

This reminds me of a story....LOLOL....

When I was a teenager, Mom and Dad went camping for the weekend. They told me no one was to be in the house, but I had a party anyway. I was such a brat!! There were sooo many kids at this party. I rec'd a phone call from my brother who was a couple blocks away and he told me that he saw two cop cars heading toward our house. I told everyone and they all scattered of course and hit the booze. Yes we were drinking.

One of the cops was a friend and just told me to close the party down and make everyone leave and he'd be back checking to make sure I followed orders. Well that scared me to death because I sure didn't want Mom and Dad to find out.

After everyone left me and a couple friends were cleaning everything up when we heard in a real light voice..."help me....somebody help me." We looked all over the house and didn't see anyone. Finally we heard it again and followed the voice to under my bed. The guy I was seeing hid under the bed and his jacket got caught on the springs underneath and he couldn't get out....LOLOLOL

When Mom and Dad got home the house was all clean just as it was when they left so I thought I got away with having my big party. Little did I know that when Mom started to do laundry the next day (a Monday) someone who was helping to hide the booze hid some in the washer and dryer...LOL.

Needless to say I was grounded...but let me tell you...Man...what a party!!!!! Kids at school talked about it for weeks afterwards.

Janet - you were a little stinker. I definitely would have been your friend!

I can't believe that you did that!!!!! You know, your Mom would have found out anyway. That's how it always works! Someone tells!!!

I used to hear things about my kids even before they would get home. Friends from church would call and say that they'd seen my son/daughter pulled over by the police!!! I had them convinced that I had people calling me all the time about what they were doing. They were to scared to try and get away with too much because Mom ALWAYS found out!!!!! And Mom was almost always waiting for them when they got home!!!

Oh I did a lot of things I shouldn't have as a teenager, especially for a girl. I just had more guy friends than girlfriends...so I just kind of got into a little more trouble. The guys weren't afraid to try things and as long as I was with them...I wasn't either...LOL. What a fun time!
