Just wanted to share this with you. We were discussing Birthdays and sending cards and such. Well, I've been a member of American Greetings online for quite a while now, and for $25 or so a year, I can Create & Print all the cards I want using their templates. They can be printed half fold on 8.5 x 11 card stock or on regular paper 8.5 x 11 quarter fold. I buy the envelopes at Walmart or OfficeDepot for these size cards.

Well, I decided I'd like to try another source of Create & Print cards, so went to the Hallmark website to see what they have. They sell card making software, and it wasn't very expensive, so I ordered Hallmark Card Studio 2009 for $29.99, and it is fantastic!!! Reasons I like is so much:

1. They give you lots of options for printing on different size papers. My plan is to buy 5 x 8 plain index cards and print 1/2 fold on them. Folded they will fit perfectly in the envelopes that I was using for quarter fold 8.5 x 11 sheets, only I think the cards will look much nicer. This would be a nice size for thank you notes, also.

2. There is an events calendar that I can put everyone's birthday and anniversary on to keep track of them.

3. You can enter your address book and address and print envelopes.

4. There are lots of other projects, too, like calendars, postcards, gift tags, to name a few.

My only regret is that I did not spend the little extra and buy the deluxe version. I didn't realize it was available when I ordered or would have bought it.

The American Greetings site is nice, and I may still remain a member, will see what I think when it's time to renew again. There are a few projects thqt I can do on there that I'm not sure are available with the Hallmark software.

Just thought some of you may be interested in this. Greeting cards are sooo expensive and this way, I can send lots more than I would otherwise. Plus, I love the convenience of printing them late at night if needed. Saves time and money.

Thank you Marilyn! That is really cheap considering how many cards one has to buy.

I spend a small fortune on cards. I'm either going to start making mine with my scrapbook supplies or start printing them off with the computer. That's a really good idea, Marilyn, to print off your own!!!!

I'm really liking this Hallmark software. The American Greetings site is good, too, but the Hallmark cards I print look more like I bought them at the store. I haven't gotten to the office supply to buy the index cards, so I took an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock and cut 5" x 8" pieces using my paper cutter and printed on them, and they look very nice. If you don't have a paper cutter, you may wish to consider getting one. I've used mine soooo much. I teach children's Bible classes, and a paper cutter and my laminator bought off eBay are must haves!!
