Jessie, Steve, and the three kids all came over today. I called a Italian restaurant near her house and ordered chicken parm heros for all of us, charged it and they picked it up on the way over. Much easier than running out to get food in the house. My supermarket is closed for a few weeks.

It was a wonderful day. I love them all. I also have a lot of fun with all of them.

Now, I'm relaxing. It is like a hurricane went through here!

So glad you had such a wonderful time!!!!!!! I can't imaging living in the snow like you do and dealing with that. I'm ready for a snow day here so I can stay home for a day, but I'll have a very long wait!!

It sounds like you had a really good time with your family. I know what you mean about feeling like "a hurricane went through here". I often feel that way too when my family comes over but it all cleans up pretty quickly and soon things are back to normal.

Is your supermarket closed because it's winter or is it remodeling or something? You wouldn't think that a supermarket would ever close for that long. Do you have another store in town where you can buy groceries? Do we need to ship you some supplies to get you by? LOL

The supermarket is changing ownership, and they are remodeling.

Like you, I live in a very small town. We don't even have a supermarket, but this one is in the next town over. There are several close enough, but not to run out in an hour or so to quickly buy food for company.

I should make the monthly trip to Walmart and just stock up. It's about an hour away. I'm just not used to stocking up. I only buy for the week. It saves a fortune and I don't end up with tons of food to eat.

I try to buy groceries to last a week and when we go to Wal-mart I stock up on things that are a lot cheaper than they are at the grocery store. Also when things are on sale I buy a lot. I have a huge pantry so I have a lot of storage.

I also buy stuff that keeps on sale. I now have 5 cans of cranberry sauce, 4 cans of evaporated milk, about 30 chicken tenders and frozen green beans to last a while.

I never thought I would feel this way, but what I would give for a nearby Walmart!!!

Brooklynites don't like stores like Walmart. It takes away from the Mom & Pop stores that are such a big part of the Brooklyn culture. They are also big and ugly.
Up here there's enough room for big and ugly.

Our nearest Wal-mart is 30 miles so I can understand. Actually we go quite often because we're always running to another town to eat out so we just pop into Wal-mart while we're there. We have a little Alco store and a Dollar General that helps to fill in the gap. I've really tried to cut back on shopping at Wal-mart. I don't like some of their policies and how they push out the Mom and Pop stores but it seems like there's always something I need to pick up.
