Hello Ladies,
I have been absent from here for a while not that any one cares....Sorry I'm in a mood with all the meds I'm on right now. But enough about me.
My youngest Jen was at Track Practice Monday night and she called. She got hurt.
She is a High Jumper and was going up to jump when she came down on her left leg and it popped. THe Athletic Trainer though she tore her ACL. Took her to our family dr today and he tought the same thing. SO we took her to Specialist and they took x-rays. Nothing broken. Tomorrow we go for an MRI. Then next week we see the surgeon. When it rains it pours. There are other things goin on in my life right now too but I can't explain what's going on. To much. Thanks for all your prayers.

Oh, Linda, we care about you and what's going on. I'm so sorry about your daughter's fall. Hopefully it won't be as bad as they think that it is. As for the other stuff, I can understand not posting. Sometimes it's just too hard to talk about or deal with but please know that we love you and are concerned. I'll be praying for you, your daughter, and what ever else is going on. Hugs!

I'm so sorry to hear about everything going on. I sure hope it's not an ACL, but girls sure seem to have troubles with that. I tore mine in high school too. It's not the end of the world, but she will have to work hard to rehab it. She can do it, and the knee will actually probably be stronger!
Good luck to her - and I hope everything else falls into place!

I am so sorry for the attitude. My dr has me on predisone and when i get on that I tend to say things that aren't me. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. :(

Take care.

We all have an attitude from time to time, prednisone or not, lol! Sounds like your life is very hectic right now. I'm so sorry about your daughters knee, it must be very painful. I will pray for her speedy recovery, and for you to feel better soon.

Linda, I am so sorry you have to go through this. I just told Ricky about Jennifer and said he hopes she's not in too much pain. Is there anything I can do to help? I hope you get to feeling better soon and Jennifer too.

Thank you everyone, Got Jen in for MRI yesterday and today we still don't know anything. I called the doctor left my number but never heard anything. Tomorrow I will call my family dr and have him call and find out what they found out if anything. She went back to school yesterday such DRAMA. The girls at her school are TERRIBLE. She has one friend that helps her from class to class. Thank good ness tomorrow is the last day then Spring Break. I take her to school and get her settled in and her dad picks her up and brings her home. My husband keeps telling her. If life gives you lemons you make lemonaid. So she keeps telling herself that. Tomorrow. We get our grandson for the weekend. My oldest daughter is due on April 7th. So we have that to look forward to. Hopefully
if Jen has to have surgery it's either before or after the baby is born. But that doesn't matter either. It will happen when it happens. I just want my kids to be healthy. Just like everyone else. I'm so thankful for you girls on here too.
I'm truly blessed. And Janet thanks for asking if we need any help. But we are getting along okay. Thanks again everyone. And as soon as I know anything I'll post it.
Bless you all.
:)
Linda, I am sorry that you don't feel well and that your daughter got hurt. I hope that it is not a serious injury and she will feel better in no time. Yes when it rains it pours your not alone in this world. Remember God does not put to much on your plate without you handling it well. Keep the faith we are always here for you...
Feel better and hope all goes well with your daughter...

You do have a lot going on right now, Linda. Just make sure that in all of this you find a little time for yourself so you can recharge. Just something simple like a long bath, with a good book or magazine, a few candles nearby, and something to drink in a glass that makes you feel special. You and your family are in my prayers.

Linda...have you heard anything about the MRI yet? I know you're hoping not to have surgery so I hope that too. Tell her we hope she's not in too much pain.

Nothing yet> I called and they told me that they hadn't gotten the results yet and that if they did that I'd probably have to wait till we saw the dr for him to tell us. Nothing like the runaround. She's doing ok. Just not sleeping very well and
since she's not getting much exercise she doesn't want to eat alot. So she skips lunch at school. The school did say that they would cover the cost of what the insurance does not pick up. Have to go talk to them this afternoon. So I'll find out more about that later today. Very thankful for that.

That's great that they will cover what is left. I know it can be very frustrating. Even the xray people don't want to tell you the results....they want your own Dr. to do that. I don't understand why, maybe Gayle will be able to tell us.

UPDATE, Just got back from doc. She needs surgery. Completely tore her ACL.
They are suppose to call us and set a date for it. No track and no golf this year
for her. She is totally bummed. Doc said 6 to 9 month recovery. That's the scoop.
Thanks for all your prayers eveyone.

Oh dear!!! Just as you I'm sure, I was hoping for no surgery. Guess there is no good time to have it done. I feel bad that she has to recuperate during the summer when it gets so hot. Tell her we're thinking of her and I'll be sure and tell Ricky. He just asked me if I'd heard anything yet, because he hadn't heard from Jennifer for a little while.

Linda, I'm so sorry that they're going to have to do surgery on your daughter. It's so hard for them to miss sports. At least she'll be a lot better once she has the surgery. Hopefully she'll heal quickly!!

I'm so sorry to hear that - but it is so common in female athletes. She'll have to work hard, but I'm sure she will.
Good luck to her in the surgery and recovery!

So sorry you and your daughter are going through this. I know how hard it is to watch your children go through something like this.

There was just something on TV yesterday about the ACL, so I learned a little something.
Linda, I am so sorry that Jen has to have the surgery. 6 to 9 months seems like forever when they're young. Remember to tell her that Gayle said it will make her stronger.
I am also so sorry that you are not well. Prednisone does give you weird mood swings, doesn't it? Stick with it, and remember that you are in my heart, and that all of us are praying for both of you.
A new baby on April 7th sounds like a real cheerer upper!

thanks all, Surgery is April 9th. So we won't be going anywhere for Easter.
Darn! Unless she feels up to it. But i won't push her. As for baby. He will be arriving on March 31st. They are going to induce labor. So can't wait for that.
Thanks again girls.
A little tiny boy! That's really soon! How is the Mama feeling?
Linda I wish your daughter a quick and speedy recovery. I hope all goes well. Congratulations with the little one's arrival , you have a special cutie to look forward to . :)
