View Full Version : Called for Jury Duty AGAIN!!!

I can't believe it....here it is spring break and they've called me for jury duty again on Tuesday. I'm going to make sure I don't have to serve this time either. It upsets me because if Gidget doesn't have her babies on Sunday or Monday...I won't leave her Tuesday. I just wasn't quick thinking enough when they had me on the phone. I may try calling Monday to get out of it.

Have you tried calling them this afternoon? I hope that you can get out of it. The timing is really bad for you right now.

I tried calling, but who I needed to talk to wasn't in till Monday, wouldn't ya know???? I'll get out of it somehow or another.

Wouldn't be so bad if Ricky was going to be home. Ivy Tech had spring break this week, so he got to sleep in till he had his high school classes. Next week he goes to Ivy Tech of a morning and then gets to come home for the afternoons.

Sure hope you get out of it. You need to be home.

Many years ago, when we lived in another state, you could NOT get out of jury duty. We had a prepaid vacation for which we would lose all the money if we couldn't go. Gary was called for jury duty, got put on a jury - told everyone who would listen that he couldn't serve, had this vacation paid for, would lose money, etc etc - no one cared - got put on the jury anyway. The night before we were to leave in the AM, the case got settled out of court. WHEW! That was so stressful.

When we moved to Texas - it is easy to get out of jury duty - I'm glad. I have served and do so when I can - but sometimes you just CAN'T!!!

I know....some time I would like to serve to actually go through the whole process...what a learning experience. But...not right now...and it would also have to depend on the case.

Good luck trying to get out of it Janet, i was seven months prego, puking my gutts out, and i had to go..... they didn't pick me though i kept asking to be excused to go to the bathroom :rolleyes:

GREAT NEWS!!! They called first thing this morning and told me jury duty was cancelled for tomorrow. I'm so happy!!!

Oh boy that is great news. I am so glad you don't have to go, now you can stay home and enjoy your spring break & those babies. YAYYYY!!!!!

I'm glad I didn't have to go too. I was going to come up with some excuse, because it's just too soon to leave them in my opinion.

They really want you as a juror Janet! I'm so glad you got out of it.

In NYC, I think you have to go now, but several summers ago, I just didn't show up. It was summer vacation, and there was no way I was giving up my beach time for some stupid criminal! I never heard from them about it.
