I was carrying Gidget out to potty and I went to step over this baby gate I'm using and I fell. I went down on my left knee...hurt like a son of a gun..lol and then I somehow twisted and hit my head on Penny's food bowl. I had a big knot and bruise on my forehead.
I guess I'm not as sure footed as I used to be or as young. I'm okay now, but it sure was scary when it happened. Gidget was alright. I was able to let go of her right before I hit the floor.

I can just see you sprawled out on the floor, but you are lucky that you didn't hurt something!!! BE. MORE. CAREFUL!
Vigilance - this is the concept that you are striving for Janet! I'm NOT suggesting you are old - but since I work with older people, I can tell you the ones age more successfully are those that are vigilant. They watch where they are walking, they pay attention to the environment, they look for extra fat/calories in food, they drive more carefully, etc etc. It is true that as we age, we are not as graceful, spry, and agile - so BE MORE VIGILANT!
That said, I have fallen more than I care to say :p So, maybe I should take my own advice! :D

OH NO! Thank goodness you didn't get hurt more seriously. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have a problem of falling down steps ALL the time. I have twisted my ankles more times than I care to remember. I was told growing up that my middle name was "grace". LOL  I haven't even reached 40 yet so I can only imagine how bad I will be later on. ;)

Be careful. Are you sure your head bump is OK?
I recently saw a report that women fall more than men because our legs "v" inward from our hips and theirs are more straight down, throwing our center of balance different than a man's. I've actually been trying to walk with my feet farther apart, but I know it's not going to work at my age. My Mom fell many, many times and watching her suffer from two broken hips scares me.

I am sorry to hear you fell, falling anymore scares the crap out of me! Not saying you/me are 'old' but .. we don't spring back like we used to. Hope you heal quickly!!

Glad it wasn't very serious Janet.

It wasn't serious at all. The bump is gone and my hair covers what little bruise there is left. Just llike Gayle said...I need to start being more careful...slow down and watch what the heck I'm doing. I'm such a goof.
I agree with Gayle, Janet. You aren't old, but your agility and spryness ain't what they used to be!
I'm so glad you are okay. It is very scary to fall. I think you should let your nerves settle for the evening. I'm serious! The adrenalin stays in your body and that's not good for you. Take it easy and relax for a while.

How are feeling today? I fell a couple weeks ago and didn't hurt until the next day.

I'm glad to hear that the fall wasn't serious. Please be careful. Falling is so hard on our bodies anymore.

Janet, how are your bobos today? I'm one of the clumsiest people I know. I'm 5'10" tall, with size 8 shoes, so my Dad always said I was clumsy because my feet weren't long enough for my height!
