Well, I drive a school bus and today when I went to pick the kids up to take them home, I was expecting my pay slip (they direct deposit everyones). I was told we no longer get paid on the 5th and 20th of each month, 12 months a year. Now we are getting paid the 8th and 22nd, just during the school year. This only applies to the bus drivers.
They said they told us at a meeting we had, but not one bus driver remembers it. I think they are lying and chickened out telling us for fear they would have some upset drivers.
No one is happy! Now I'm going to have to make sure I put the money back and pay myself during the summer. I am so pi**ed!!!

I don't blame you for being pissed! If you're like most of us, we know when our checks are coming in and we need it then, not 3 days later. And if none of the other bus drivers knew about the change in pay dates, it's a pretty good bet that the powers that be failed miserably in the communication department!

If they couldn't take a vote to ask your preference, you would at least think they would let you know.
I'm sure they wouldn't like it if you 'forgot' to call in sick... just tell them you told them at the last meeting.;)

That's horrible!! Specially if your counting on the pay on that specific day, at least they should have had the guts to notify you all of the change!

That really sucks. Working for the school system doesn't pay crap as it is and now you have to make your money stretch. I'd be pissed, too!

We still get paid the same amount for the year, it's just that it was spread out over 12 months. We were just use to getting the check on the 5th and 20th all year and now we will have to divide it ourselves, which isn't that big a deal, but the paychecks will now be bigger and more taxes will be coming out.
Some of us seem to think they are trying to Pi** the drivers off so we'll quit. New drivers that are hired don't recieve an option for insurance. Guess some of the drivers are getting together, but I'm not big on the mob scene. I'm going to talk with a neighbor down the road, who just happens to be a board member. Hopefully he can let me know the truth of what and why this is happening only to the drivers.

And remember... you can always request the minutes of the meeting when they said they told you to see if they had a 'reason' to do it...
