We did have a great turn out for his Open House. Plenty of cake, cookies and punch. We received a lot of nice compliments. Rick recieved so many cards and friends and family were so generous. I could tell Rick really felt good that day.
Rick will be studying diesel mechanics at Lincoln College of Technology. He starts classes there in August. We go in July for a final meeting before he begins. Rick is so excited.

Nice pictures, Janet!!! I'm so glad that you shared the video because I really did wish that I was there for Ricky's graduation. I know that you are so proud of him and with good reason!!! He's a great boy!!!!
Your cake and stuff for the graduation party looks so nice!!! You did a good job getting everything together!!! I'm glad that a lot of people showed up too!!!
What nice pictures Janet! The picture of you and Ricky is wonderful. You can see the love between the two of you. The one with his Grandma is terrific. He towers over her.
The videos are wonderful! It's like being there. He is just adorable, and is a son to be proud of. You did a good job, Janet.
I'm so happy we finally got to see Ricky graduate.

Thank you ladies. I'm so glad I was able to get a few pictures and some video.
Mandy...what kind of graduation ceremonies do you have there? The schools here in our county use to keep the cap and gowns and just reuse them every year. Now we have to purchase them, where them one time and then box them up to save or sell them to someone next year. Me...I have to save it of course...lol.

Janet, we do have graduation ceromonies here, but not nearly as nice as what you guys are use to.
Here the kids dont wear gowns and hats.
Each kid gets called to the front to recieve their diploma, and shake hands with mentors and director.
Afterwards they have drinks and snacks for pupils and parents, we werent even allowed to bring friends or relatives because the hall was too small.
Most kids do have their own graduation party after the ceromonie on different dates and invite friends and classmates.
Tradition is that once you are informed that you have passed all the exams, is to hang a flag above the frontdoor with a backpack.
I'll try to find a picture of the flag.

Love the picture Mandy. If we have any traditions other than the cap and gowns, I don't know what it is. Everyone usually has an open house, reception or party on different days so the students can celebrate with their friends.
After the ceremony for my son's class, everyone just went outside to congratulate the graduates and take pictures. Then we go home.
Back when I graduated '73...we didn't have parties or receptions. We just went home and either got ready for college or a job...lol. Times have changed quite a bit.
